ADJACENT PROJECTS

Other projects in construction in the area include the SR 210 Lane Addition and Base Line Interchange and I-10/University Street Interchange projects.

The SR 210 Lane Addition and Base Line Interchange project, designed to provide increased traffic flow throughout this corridor, is being built as one project. To eliminate the existing bottleneck and provide lane continuity, the SR 210 is being widened from Sterling Avenue to San Bernardino Avenue in the cities of San Bernardino, Highland, and Redlands, as well as an unincorporated portion of San Bernardino County. Base Line Interchange is also being widened from Buckeye Street to Seine Avenue in the City of Highland. For more information about the project and closures and detours, visit goSBCTA.com/SR210BaseLine.

The I-10/University Street Interchange project, designed to relieve congestion, improve safety, and improve traffic flow, will widen the westbound I-10 on-ramp and the eastbound I-10 off-ramp, and restripe University Street from Citrus Avenue to Central Avenue. For more information about the project and closures and detours, visit goSBCTA.com/i10university.

ABOUT THE I-10/ALABAMA STREET INTERCHANGE PROJECT
SBCTA, the City of Redlands, and the County of San Bernardino will improve the I-10 at Alabama Street Interchange between Orange Tree Lane and Industrial Park Avenue. The project will:
  • Reduce congestion, improve safety, and improve traffic operations along Alabama Street between Orange Tree Lane and Industrial Park Avenue.
  • Widen and reconstruct off-ramps by adding two lanes to each existing ramp.
  • Widen Alabama Street in both the southbound and northbound directions to accommodate turn pockets onto I-10.
  • Provide Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant curb ramps, pedestrian push buttons and signals, and detectable warning surfaces at intersections where crosswalks are included.
Walking on the freeway is unsafe. In case of an emergency, please dial 9-1-1. For non-emergency Freeway Service Patrol (FSP) services, call the California Highway Patrol (CHP) at (909) 428-5400 or use the nearest Call Box for assistance. Drivers or passengers of a disabled vehicle stopped on a freeway may walk to the nearest exit, in either direction, on the same side of the freeway upon which the vehicle is disabled, or to the nearest Call Box for assistance. For the safety of the public and our crews, unapproved access to construction sites and property related to project construction is prohibited.
