MESSAGE FROM JIMMY

This week in worship we will wrap up our Ephesian series, "Ask and Imagine," by taking a look at chapter six. There is one clear theme that stands out here: the armor of God. Paul's imagery of a Roman soldier arrayed in full battle regalia is a classic visual in Sunday School literature and Study Bibles. His message is that we are equipped to take a stand against every form of evil in our world that would threaten to undermine our faith in Christ.

Speaking of costumes...With the coming of October, the grocery stores and big box stores are loaded with halloween costumes and candy for trick-or-treating. I hope you are planning to celebrate with us at our Fall Trunk-or-Treat event on Wednesday, October 25 here on our campus. I am sure we will see a few little "soldiers" in our midst. What a great opportunity we have to provide a safe and loving environment for our children through this community event. We still need candy and trunks! You can donate candy at the church office and sign up to provide a trunk by contacting Allison Killebrew

Finally, I remind leaders serving on the Finance Committee and Ministry Council that we have important meetings scheduled for this Sunday afternoon, October 15th. Finance will meet at 2:00 PM in the Rasberry Classroom and the Ministry Council will meet at 4:00 PM in the sanctuary.

Hope to see you Sunday!

Jimmy

MINISTRY SPOTLIGHT OF THE WEEK

SENDING NICK OFF

On October 8th, our youth ministry came back from fall break for United Night. Each Sunday night, our student ministry gathers in the gym to fellowship together, worship, break bread and go into small groups. This Sunday was Nick’s last day as our youth director, and we sent him off well with big thanks and warm wishes.
