Bright Future Hours Opportunity

Fostering Animals

If your high school student is looking for a way to earn Bright Future volunteer hours, how about snuggling and caring for a pup or litter of kitties at home, while earning those hours? Under parental supervision, students aged 16-18 can foster an animal in their home over a six-week period, for 100 hours or more of volunteer time.

Students must be able to bring in their animal regularly for dog training classes or kitten wellness checks. Seminole County Animal Services will provide all supplies, food and veterinary care during their foster stay. To sign up for a slot and upcoming volunteer orientation, call 407-665-5208.

Free Family Events

Reading Paws helps young readers gain confidence and practice fluency by reading out loud to a trained therapy dog. Call or stop by the library to register for a 15-minute time slot. Registration is required.
