Message from our

Chair and Vice Chair

Dear Angels,

We are so blessed with this mighty Angel village! Once again, we have achieved great success due to the hard work of our Angels and the generosity of our donors.

Our events throughout the year were well attended and soared to new heights. The spring event kicked off our first-ever country concert and the fall Poker Party celebrated its 20th anniversary and recorded record-breaking revenue and profit this year! We also had numerous events throughout the year to spread the word of Angel Charity for Children and further support of our mission.

The hard work of our Casino Gifts, Chance Tickets and Silent Auction committees was evident. Thank you for all you have done to deliver amazing gifts and hit it out of the park this year!

Speaking of hitting it out of the park, our CCU committee hit a grand slam this year by exceeding our fundraising goals by more than $80K! Congratulations and thank you to this amazing, hard-working team.

We hope you had a spectacular time at the 41st Angel Ball. Our Ball Chair, Carla Keegan, and the entire ball committee delivered an outstanding theme interpretation with beautiful décor. Thank you to every single person that had a hand in making the ball a success this year. We appreciate your hard work.

We wish each of you a wonderful holiday season spent with those you love.

With Gratitude,

Jeannie and Carrie

FROM THE CCU COMMITTEE

Thank you for celebrating our donors at

the 41st Angel Ball - Noir et Blanc.

The CCU Committee is responsible for raising funds requested by our beneficiaries each year. This is accomplished through personal solicitation calls, requests to foundations, applications for grants, tributes and any proceeds of special projects or events (overages). A special thank you to our amazing CCU committee for all of your hard work, meeting participation and solicitations. You all are amazing!!! Thank you to our Angel members who donated personally and fulfilled their member CCU commitment! We had so many generous donations this year from Angel members!

Thank you for helping us fulfill our mission! We have exceeded our goals thanks to YOU!

ANGEL BALL - NOIR ET BLANC HIGHLIGHTS

Woo Hoo Angels!! Our 41st Angel Ball - Noir et Blanc was a rousing sold out success!

Thank you all for coming together and working as a group to make this an amazing experience. One million thanks to Margaret Maxwell and her team's beautiful display in the Sonoran Room of Elisa Ross and her team's casino gifts; many thanks to Karen Osborne and her team who purchased gifts; casino gift certificates headed up by Lia Keller; the smooth registration in the foyer (no surprise attendees) led by Mitra Shahi (and her team); and Casino gaming in Azul led by Mary Schepelmann (and her team) to the tireless Treasurer group led by Kelly Medvec and the magnificent donor recognition plaques and wall led by Laura Buckelew, CCU chair and constructed by Carrie Durham and Veronica McCutcheon; and our sold out pop-up Chanel champagne raffle led by Jodi Bain; silent auction led by Tana Lopez to the ultimate ball décor (Jodi Bain liaison).

The outstanding cuisine choices are because of the diligent work done by Deanna Miles and the cuisine committee (and thanks to her company for printing the programs and drink tickets) and ball favors thanks to Pattie Feder. We are also grateful to Melissa Gibbons for coordinating the chance ticket drawing at the ball. Of course, NONE of this would be possible without volunteers. We are appreciative of the efforts of Jen Nyman for organizing volunteers (and food for them) and Anne Barber for clean up until 2:30 am. We are also grateful to Valerie Fanelli for the great PR before and during the ball and Kristie Stevens (with the help of Rachel Christmas) for the beautiful invitations as well as Karla Looby for all the computer assistance along the way.

In addition to our community and Angel volunteers, Emily Schaefer (ball day coordinator) and I want to give a HUGE shout out to Susan and Rob Auman and The Westin La Paloma and their hotel, food and beverage and banquets team (they really are a dynamic duo and make things happen); Meagan Crain of Crain + Co. (and her team), who is responsible for our fabulous décor, NRG (Jen Chenault, Angel liaison), one of the best bands on the planet, Total Lighting, Commotion Studios, AZ Pro Sound and Delivery Doctors for taking everything we gathered during the year to La Paloma on Friday morning and helping pack everything up and taking everything back to their office for storage. Thank you, Erin Vincent, for providing your staff and for calling all the folks who left their purchased items and allowing them to pick them up at your office.

As you can see from all the names mentioned above (and forgive me if I forgot to include you or misspelled your name), it takes a village to put on the best ball in Tucson. Again, thank you Angels for all your dedication and commitment, especially Jeannie Nguyen and Carrie Durham for their outstanding leadership and guidance in this process and during the year.
