Happy New Year! Welcome to 2024; let's make it a great year!
I would like to give a huge shout out to Kim Keceli and Mary Bilgo for the beautiful Christmas decorations at our school, both inside and out. We were the Campbellsport Chamber of Commerce's choice for Best Religious Christmas Decorations, 2023. Thank you Kim and Mary for doing such a great job and volunteering your time and creative abilities.
We welcomed Mr. Thomas to our school this week. He is our new Phy Ed teacher and we are very excited to have him on board. He is finishing up his schooling at UW Oshkosh with a degree in Physical Education. He is a coach, a dad, and also teaches Phy Ed at Shepherd of the Hills. We are very happy to have him join us.
Mark your calendar for our biggest event of the school year...March Madness, Cabin Fever Dinner Auction on Saturday, March 9, 2024. CRAVE is catering a fantastic meal, as usual. How can you help? Please attend and invite your families and friends to this adult only evening of fun, food, raffles, silent and live auction, and friends. Reserve a table for 10 of your closest friends and family members. New this year, we will offer carry-outs if you want to support the event, but cannot be here in person. You may also take advantage of the online auction to help support our school and daycare. Please help us make the event one we can all be proud to be a part of.
National Catholic Schools Week is fast approaching and will start Sunday, January 28 through February 3, 2024. This is a wonderful week of service, celebration, tradition, and faith. We acknowledge and applaud you for choosing to send your children to a Catholic School and for your sacrifice and commitment. We are growing because of your words and actions. Thank you!
Did you know that our first school was built and dedicated in September of 1874 (currently the playground field)? Due to the rapidly growing church and school, in 1893, under the administration of Fr. John Bertram, the church was enlarged and a new school was built. The school building, from the cafeteria to the school office, was built and dedicated in April, 1956. By 1964, there were 360 families in our parish and 315 students in our school, grades 1 - 8. We are projected to open and dedicate our new daycare in September, 2024, exactly 150 years later! Now that is something to celebrate!
