Dear JLL Families,

Welcome to today's daily Elul message. As we approach the High Holidays, we will use this daily Jewish practice as an opportunity to highlight different aspects of the Jewish Learning Lab. Today, we continue to focus on specific curricular elements of the JLL Program.

JLL Program Focus: Music

Back in week one of the month of Elul, you were introduced to Emma Rehfeld, one of our new JLL Full-Time educators. In addition to specializing in teen engagement, Emma also serves as our Music Specialist.

In conjunction with Cantors Kleinman and Rodnizki, Emma will implement a music curriculum whose primary purpose is to ground us in Jewish time. Each week, all of our students (on Saturdays and Sundays) will spend time singing with Emma! Additionally, our 3rd and 4th graders will also get to learn and sing with Emma midweek. Through music, our students will engage with holidays, practice Hebrew, and enjoy curricular enrichment.

Music is a powerful way to engage with our Jewish tradition, and Emma is an expert in engaging with and guiding students to find their inner voices.
