Last week, I had the privilege of accompanying our four exceptional 2025 Youth of the Year candidates to Sacramento for the Boys & Girls Clubs California Days of Advocacy. We shared two unforgettable days where I witnessed these incredible young women grow as leaders and use their voices to make a real difference.

While in Sacramento, they toured the State Capitol, met with Senator Monique Limón’s office, and engaged in thoughtful conversations with individual state legislators about issues that matter most to youth. They participated in workshops on advocacy, created and practiced their own elevator pitches, and attended a career panel featuring public officials who encouraged them to dream big.

They also had the opportunity to connect with Club teens from across the state during a special teen night hosted by the Boys & Girls Club of Sacramento. Surrounded by fellow youth leaders, they shared experiences, built friendships, and celebrated what it means to be part of a movement that champions young people.

This trip was more than just a visit to our state’s capital. It was an experience that sparked confidence, connection, and a deeper understanding of the power they hold.

This is what the Boys & Girls Club is all about—opening doors, creating possibilities, and empowering the next generation of leaders.

I am so excited to see where these young changemakers go next.

Thank you,

Erin Antrim
