APPLICATIONS OPEN FOR LAUNCH BLUE'S UACCEL PROGRAM

Launch Blue, a nonequity-seeking pre-seed accelerator program that aims to launch nationally competitive startups, completed its fourth UAccel Program cohort this past spring. The UAccel program offers business development and an experiential learning opportunity to innovators in higher education and helps determine the best commercialization path for technologies.

Kayla Meisner has been named the new executive director of Kentucky Commercialization Ventures (KCV) by the Kentucky Science and Technology Corp. (KSTC) in collaboration with the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development, the University of Kentucky and the University of Louisville.

NIEHS ARTICLE ON ANTIVIRAL MEMBRANE MASK

The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences has written an article on the antiviral membranes developed at the University of Kentucky. These new membranes "capture and deactivate SARS-CoV-2 on contact, preventing the spread of COVID-19."

Taunya Phillips, Director, Office of Technology Commercialization, was named a National Academy of Inventors (NAI) honorary member at NAI's annual meeting held in Phoenix in June.


Taunya also participated in a technology transfer panel at the annual meeting.k
