Ten College of Science undergrads are among 26 Aggie scholars headed to Utah’s Capitol Hill Jan. 20 to present their research to state legislators. At the annual event, established in 2000, Aggies serve as ambassadors for USU, present cutting-edge studies and highlight the importance of undergraduate research experiences for students, local communities and the State of Utah.
Spring Brings Opportunities for Student Researchers
USU offers numerous opportunities for both undergrads and grad students to fund and to present their research. Encourage your students to explore these opportunities and to note upcoming application periods:
Undergraduates and graduate students who plan to participate in spring commencement ceremonies must apply for graduation with the Registrar’s Office (TSC 246) by Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2023. The University Commencement Ceremony is set for Thursday, May 4, 2023 (more details available soon.) It’s ‘Snowmageddon’ at Science Unwrapped Friday, Jan. 20
Science Unwrapped, the college’s public outreach program, resumes Friday, Jan. 20 with “Predicting Snowmageddon: Using Data Science to Design Against Disaster” with USU statistician Brennan Bean at 7 p.m. in ESLC 130. All are welcome to this free event.

All USU employees driving university vehicles must complete State of Utah Defensive Driving Training before operating state-owned vehicles. The training, which takes about 30 minutes, can be completed online on USU’s Institutional Learning System.
