SB 10 Update and Action Alert
The City of San Diego has included an exemption for designated historic sites and districts in the circulating draft of the SB 10 that is consistent with San Diego’s existing housing regulations.
Unfortunately, even a commonsense exemption like this faces challenges from developers, builders, and naysayers who are spreading misinformation about historic designation being an obstacle to new housing.
We need your help. We need you to write to your councilperson, the mayor, and the city housing policy program manager to state your support for this exemption.
SB 10 enables local governments to bypass existing zoning and environmental review processes. SB10 allows for "by-right" development, it eliminates the need for public review.
We urge you to take a moment now and reach out to the city housing policy program manager, your councilperson and mayor via email or phone to express your support for this exemption.
