For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world,

but to save the world through him.

John 3:17

A couple weeks ago,I saw something I had never seen before. A giant crane lifting toilets from a building. The building was under construction, with two massive cranes lifting steel beams, wooden planks, and toilets! Three port-a-potties were being hauled from the rooftop filled with …. ahem ….. human waste.

A crane was needed.

We have seen throughout The Story, that God’s people continue to sin and it seemed as if there was no hope, no end to their filthy sin. They would need help.

A cross was needed.

Though God's people sinned, H promised His endless love and everlasting faithfulness to His covenant promises. Christ Jesus came in a manger, died on a cross, and hauled away our pride-filled sin...waste.

Sunday we continue in chapter 23 of The Story, where Jesus is tempted in the desert, calls his disciples, and shares the Good News. In this chapter, we meet two people, a man named Nicodemus and an unnamed Samaritan woman, and they cannot be further apart. In the darkness of night, the religious leader, Nicodemus, seeks nothing but answers. In the heat of the day, the Samaritan woman seeks nothing but water. They both meet The Messiah.

See you Sunday. I can’t wait.

Pastor Austin

The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
