Hello friends!
Let's head back into the forest to unplug, relax, and refresh...
This week we'll be venturing into Rothrock State Forest to explore Bear Meadows Natural Area, located approximately four miles south of Boalsburg and 20 minutes from State College. In addition to guided nature walks, participants can also take part in a forest bathing experience on Sunday at 1 and 3 p.m. See below for the full schedule for Sunday and Wednesday.
Have you earned your Season Six snail sticker yet?
If you have attended three or more guided events this year then you have earned your Season Six snail snicker! Be sure to let me know at the welcome table to redeem your sticker and sign in at all guided events to track your progress.
Thank you for carpooling!
Carpooling to Centred Outdoors events not only helps when parking spaces are limited, doing so also reduces carbon emissions and air pollution while spending a little less on gas! We appreciate you considering carpooling to an upcoming event whenever possible.
Thanks, we can 'bearly' wait to meet you in the forest this week!

Step into one of only 603 National Natural Landmarks in the country and one of eight designated natural areas in Rothrock State Forest. Curiously explore the rare plant and animal communities, historical features, and forest characteristics that have earned Bear Meadows its designations from the National Park Service and PA-DCNR, and inspired many writers and outdoor enthusiasts, including Jean Aron, author of The Short Hiker, whom the Jean Aron Path in Bear Meadows is named after.

๐ฒโฎ Forest Bathing (1 pm and 3 pm): Enjoy a forest bathing experience with Lucy Heggenstellar, Certified Nature Therapy guide and PA Master Naturalist.
