WHY?

Isaiah 57:1 [Amp] says, “The righteous man perishes [at the hand of evil] and no one takes it to heart; Faithful and devout men are taken away, while no one understands that the righteous person is taken away [to be spared] from disaster and evil.”

We often have wondered why a good person dies too young, seemingly long before their reasonable time. This verse explains it.

Many times, an innocent person loses his life in an accident or in a violent way. In some other cases, they may have failed God and backslid if they remained, so God takes them while they are clothed in the righteousness of Christ by faith. In other cases, they might have experienced an agonizing disease. There could be many reasons. It might even be that they have already completed their destined purpose and work on earth.

We do not understand all of God’s purposes when these things happen, but we must trust in faith that He knows what He is doing. We cannot know or understand the purposes or reasons for all that God does or that He allows another to do.

Therefore, it is not right for us to blame God for what we see or think as being a bad thing that has happened to a righteous person.

We must trust that God knows their situation better than we do, and then we ask the Holy Spirit to bring us peace about it from Jesus.

FINDING YOUR GOSHEN

God told Abraham in Genesis 15:13-14 what the future of his family would be. It says, “13 And he said unto Abram, know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years; 14 and also that nation whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance.”

It was no surprise that Jacob, Abraham’s grandson, and his sons would go to Egypt and become servants to the Egyptians for four hundred years. But while they were there, God had a plan of protection. When Moses was sent back to Egypt to deliver the Hebrews, they were living in a land separated from the Egyptians, which was Goshen. Joseph had provided this land for them. (See Genesis 45:10.)

When Moses was sent back to Egypt after 40 years of shepherding on the backside of a mountain he brought with him the hope of deliverance. Plague after plague came upon the Egyptians, but the Hebrews that lived in Goshen were protected. In Exodus 8:22 and 9:26 we see God protecting them from the plagues. 9:26 says, “Only in the land of Goshen, where the children of Israel were, was there no hail.”

Goshen is defined as “a land or place of plenty and comfort.” Goshen is the place that God has set aside for each of us to be protected, just like the children of Israel were. Where is that place? It is in the center of God’s will.  

I truly believe as things worsen in the world that God is bringing Goshens to his people. It will be a place of safety, comfort, and sustenance. It will be a place of peace when chaos hits our land. It will be a place of protection.

How do you find your Goshen? You spend time with the Lord and seek Him, and He will reveal it. I might say do not move unless He tells you to, and do not stay if He tells you to move! When you are in the center of God’s will, you are in your Goshen, whether it is a house, or a tent, or anywhere else He chooses. Find your Goshen and you will be safe!

Give yourself a little grace! We are imperfect human beings with many flaws, but God sees us IN JESUS CHRIST, who is perfect. Yes, we fail, but God forgives and FORGETS and we need to do the same with ourselves and others!

Tuesday Thought for Today

We have seen many things in the last couple of days that we wish we hadn’t seen or hadn’t experienced. In spite of the sadness, the destruction, the loss of life this is when we press through.

“Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor the arrow that flies in the day. Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness, nor the disaster that strikes at midday.”

Keep reminding yourself:

Lord, I am Yours, there is nothing I cannot do as I walk with You.

ANNOUNCEMENT: I am having cataract surgery Wednesday and depending how my eye does I could be out til Friday or Monday. Will keep you posted

PROPHETIC EXHORTATION

Don’t you ever stop working on the PLAN just because you cannot see the completion of it all. If you remember God often HIDES His provisions out of PLAIN sight. Yes, He placed a RAM on the mountaintop BEFORE He asked Abraham to SACRIFICE his only son Isaac. He HID Esther in the palace BEFORE Haman could even issue a death decree. Then there was Joseph hidden in a JAIL cell close to the PALACE. Let us not forget NOAH who was known to hammer away on a few old boards that ended up SAVING his family and all of humanity. Yes, at times you can get so involved in desiring God’s PLAN; Until you totally FAIL to recognize that your STORY is a PART of God’s PROVISION for yourself and sometimes for others. So remember that our all knowing and faithful God has a secret weapon on His mind; And at times He will so graciously INCLUDE you in on the PLANS for His STORY…And you get to work with HIM as you surprisingly help make HISTORY for God.

A Homing Device! HCC

In each of us is a homing device that speaks

To us. That yes, there is a God. Some ignore this;

But when life gets rough, they cry out, “Oh God,

Help me!” But then after all is well again God is,

Forgotten. But to be fair some listen to this

Homing device and turn to the Savior.

What a gift it is to them, and God the Father

Smiles too. Is your homing device working?

Get ahead of your problems, your sufferings,

And go home to Christ Jesus
