FROM THE PASTOR - Next Generation Scholarship Fund

Dear Church of the Saviour Family,

Spring is here but summer is approaching—which means … it’s camp time for Next Generation Ministries! Some set their calendars by these camps; many have already registered for them (reserve your spot now if you haven’t!). The COS Team is pumped about these exciting gospel-focused and Christ-centered opportunities:

For Kids Ministry:

· Summer Bible Camp at COS: June 23-27

· Sports Camp at COS: July 14-18

For Student Ministry:

· High School Mystery Camp: July 21-24

· Middle School Camp at Harvey Cedars Bible Conference: July 28-August 1

Many of you have heard regularly, or even know personally, how summer camps are and can be life-changing and transformative experiences for the next generation. Many faith stories start, and much spiritual growth occurs, through camp opportunities like the ones planned for this summer. But these opportunities come with a real financial cost attached to them. That cost is not something every child or family can pay in full. This is why our church has an amazing history of supporting these summer camp opportunities for the next generation. Through the years, that investment has contributed to real gospel change in the lives of many. God has written amazing stories in prior summers and he will write new ones this summer. This is why we want to continue to make this investment in the next generation.

Are you interested in making a spiritual difference in the lives of kids and students this summer through your generosity? Will you pray how God may be leading you to give so that unsaved friends and neighbors and those in financial need will be able to attend summer camps and be changed by believing the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ?

As a church, we hope to raise $40,000 in our Next Generation Scholarship Fund before summer ministry begins. You can give here. This amount will not only supply additional scholarships for this summer and beyond, it will replenish the scholarship fund after not raising such funds last year. As you consider giving, we also ask that those who give to the Next Generation Scholarship Fund do so above-and-beyond their normal commitment to the church’s ministry/operations and missions. For every gift you give to the Next Generation Scholarship Fund, know that you are making a lasting impact on the next generation.

In Christ,

Jon Christman

College & Next Generation Pastor

Thank you for supporting the Lord's work through COS! If you would like to give a gift to missions in addition to your normal tithe/offering to ministry/operations, please designate that on your check or digital donation.

GLOBAL OUTREACH

Afghan Luncheon Last Saturday!

Over the weekend, we welcomed around 150 Afghan refugees to our campus for an afternoon of feasting and fun! More than 30 COS volunteers served them with hospitality, games, laughter, and friendship. A huge thank you to our Women's Ministry for providing decorations, Next Gen Ministry for playing with the kids, and our GO Team for coordinating this event. 14 Dari Bibles were taken, and the expressions of gratitude were incredibly touching. If you would like to be on the team to continue planning follow-up gatherings, reach out to Leigha.

Global Partner Prayer Focus

Tricia Towle serves in Albania, a mostly secular nation where half of the population identifies as Muslim. Her work as an audiologist and patient advocate helps those in need receive low-cost hearing aids and state-sponsored cochlear implants. She also helps parents develop their deaf child's speech and language post-implantation.

Pray for Tricia as she brings hope to children and families, one ear at a time, by advocating for these least-reached, often invisible, deaf children in Jesus' name.

HERITAGE SCHOOL

Resurrection Eggs

The Easter cirriculum at Heritage School helps students learn the Easter story using Resurrection Eggs. Each day leading up to Easter, students open one egg, discover a story, and read a Bible verse related to it. This hands-on approach allows young minds to see, touch, and hear the Easter story, making it more meaningful and engaging for them. Here is an example of what the teacher would read when opening a resurrection egg containing The Cup from the Last Supper:

"Jesus had a special dinner with His disciples-twelve of His closest friends who traveled with Him and learned from Him. During the meal, Jesus stood up and held out a cup and gave everyone a drink. Then He said something that was hard for them to understand. He said that the wine in the cup was His blood. He didn't mean that they would actually be drinking blood, but that the wine was a symbol of (or a picture) of His blood. He wanted them to remember this special night and the covenant (or promise) He was making to them and to all people."
