Inspections are coming!

Health and Safety Inspections will take

place September 6-11, 2022

Greetings,

It's almost time again for health and safety inspections!

Between September 6-11, all spaces will be entered for inspections. Inspections involve a visual inspection of the student room to look for health and safety hazards/violations. These violations include but are not limited to unsafe extension cords, improperly lofted beds, use of cinder blocks for bed raising, excessive trash, items hung from ceiling tiles and grids, items hung from sprinkler heads/smoke alarms, candles, storage of flammable items, unapproved appliances, storage and personal use of lounge furniture in your room assignment, blocked egress, crowded ventilation, etc. For more information and all of our policies please refer to the Guide to Community Living

This email correspondence should serve as an official notice regarding inspections. Please note that any of these violations may incur charges on the first citation. Additionally, failure to address them, may additional incur charges. Should your room fail inspection, a notice outlining the issues will be left in your room. You will then have 24 hours to permanently address the violation, failure to do so may result in charges, additional charges, and/or referral to the University’s student conduct process.

Please note, that while we generally provide 24 hours for resolution of violations, specific violations of the Guide to Community Living and any violations of the WFU Student Code of Conduct will be documented and result in an immediate response.

Finally, your community staff will close and lock doors as they finish inspecting rooms. Be sure to take your keys and student ID with you as you leave your rooms during the week.
