Want to be a Lenten Prayer Partner? Sign up to serve during the season of Lent by “adopting” one of our EYC students!

Who? Any SJE parishioner is invited to participate!

What? LPP is an opportunity to be paired with a student (anonymous to them) and commit to praying for them over the season of Lent!

When? You will be paired beginning on 2/12 until our LPP dinner on 4/30 at 6:00 PM (a little beyond Lent)

Where? You may drop off anything to be relayed (on Sundays) to your PP in the Parlor at any time!

How? You will receive a packet with your PP’s information (name, age, favorite colors, candy, places to eat, and what they would like prayer for) prior to 2/12 – it is totally up to you what you do during this time! You can leave notes, goodies, or just pray from the sidelines! At our LPP dinner on 4/30, you are invited to attend, and your identity will be revealed to the student you are paired with! Then, we will enjoy a lovely meal, games, and fellowship with one another!

We would LOVE if these relationships extended beyond our LPP dinner and become lifelong friendships/prayer partners in the future! We think this will be a great way to connect EYC with our SJE congregation and let these young people know that they are supported throughout their faith journey!

You will receive your partner via email prior to 2/12. There will be a mid-point check in on March 19 - we ask that each partner reach out at least once before this date!

If you have ANY questions at all, please reach out to Rachel Shelton.

Holy Eucharist Class for Children

The parish is offering a Holy Eucharist Class for children in second-fifth Grades. The classes are designed to provide children an opportunity to explore and understand the scripture, traditions, liturgy, and symbols surrounding the sacrament of Holy Eucharist. The classes will be held on Sunday mornings through February from 9:15-10:05. Participants should gather at the Sunday School Launchpad (Room 125). Beth and Joe Early will be leading this class. Students completing 75% of the classes will be recognized during a worship in March. Please direct any questions to Family Minister Matt Williams.

GOOD CITIZENS, WE NEED YOUR HELP!

While many have stepped forward to help with Vacation Bible School this summer, we still need adult volunteers to complete our team of heroes. Can YOU make time to join our team of heroes on June 19-23? It will make a big difference for the children of our fair parish. No prior VBS experience is necessary, just a willingness to help the children to have a great week. And, since it is a half-day program, people with some schedule flexibility still have their afternoons free to work or play. If you can jump into action to save the day, please contact Family Minister Matt Williams at the church as soon as possible.

SAVE THE DATE: LATTES IN LENT

Beginning February 23 (12:00-12:45 on Zoom)

Take a break each weekday in Lent to join Fr. Brad for a time of reflection/conversation as we gather with well known Franciscan priest Richard Rohr and his book “Wondrous Encounters: Scripture for Lent.”

Get your book now. Open to everyone…invite a friend. Zoom ID will be sent later.
