September 2022
September is World Alzheimer’s Month and World Alzheimer's Day is on September 21
Each September, World Alzheimer’s Month is observed by people from all over the world who unite to raise awareness, educate and sensitize the community regarding the stigma that persists around Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. Much more needs to be done to ensure that Alzheimer’s disease becomes a global health priority.
A purple ribbon is a symbol for Alzheimer’s disease.

An Inspiring Fundraising Event
Melanie Manna, a Recreation Therapist with 20 years of experience in the healthcare field and the owner of Les Services Raison d'Être, In-Home Service for seniors initiated a fundraising event with her clients, who are seniors with dementia. The clients used their own imagination and the creative process to design hand-woven squares and handmade soaps to sell for 5$ each while giving back to the community.

The proceeds raised from the sale of these homemade products will be generously donated to the Alzheimer Groupe Inc. (AGI) in support of people living with dementia and their caregivers. To date, $100 has been raised.

A heartfelt thank you to inspiring people like Melanie and her clients for undertaking such a wonderful initiative!
