Message from Magnus

Last academic year was a record-breaking year here at the UCI Samueli School of Engineering in terms of research. As evidenced by the stories in this edition of the newsletter, we continue to make significant contributions that matter to our local and global communities. To quote our associate dean for research, Distinguished Professor Efi Foufoula-Georgiou: “We are proud of the excellent research of our faculty that has led the Samueli School to reach a high of $63.7 million in research awards in fiscal year 2022. This is a 24% increase since last year. We are also very proud of our early career faculty, who have won NSF, DOE, DOD, ARO and NASA early career awards, and many more accolades.”

Best,

Magnus Egerstedt, Ph.D.
