Hot Tix’s Tickets for a 20 Promotion NOW LIVE!
From August 24 – September 3, Hot Tix is bringing back our popular “Tickets for a 20” promotion! During this limited time promotion Hot Tix will offer $20 tickets to fall shows in advance to build excitement for the return of fall theatre. In 2022, we sold over 3,500 tickets during this promotion with great feedback from participating theatres and patrons.
To participate in this promotion, the regular ticket price for the seats allocated will need to be more than $20 and the special promotion will run Thursday, August 24 – Sunday, September 3 (or while supplies last). Announcing the Broadway In Chicago Backstage Champion Award
This year at the League of Chicago Theatre’s annual gala, we will be presenting the inaugural Broadway In Chicago Backstage Champion Award. This award recognizes an individual within the Chicago theatre industry who has made a positive impact on our community, and was designed to specifically call out those theatre workers that are not traditionally recognized. Through their work throughout the Chicago theatre scene, this awardee’s professional work, social impact or personal commitment has been invaluable to the field. We welcome you to help us shine a light on their contributions as we recognize their work within the Chicago community and honor them with a gift of $1,000. Nominations are due by August 28, 2023.

TCG Crisis & Chrysalis Town Hall
On September 11th from 2-4pm EST, TCG is hosting a 2023 Crisis & Chrysalis Town Hall. This emergent conversation will acknowledge the crises, share what’s working, and chart a path forward. TCG will begin by sharing the findings from their 2023 Compounding Crises Snapshot Survey and related research. They will also share their plan to respond to these various crises and welcome feedback. Then, a facilitated emergent conversation will invite participants to speak on the challenges of this moment—and their solutions-oriented visions for how to move forward. Learn more here.

Arts in the Dark 2023
Join the League and dozens of other Chicago arts organizations for the 9th Annual Arts in the Dark Halloween Parade on Saturday, October 21st from 6-8pm on State Street moving south from Lake to Van Buren. Arts in the Dark is a family-friendly event that is free and open to the public. Theo is partnering with the League of Chicago Theatres for our first Meet & Greet of the 23-24 year on October 5, 2023 at 6pm! We’re putting together another series of meet and greets across the city and suburbs to give League members and associated artists a chance to network and connect with each other, League staff, and Executive Director, Marissa Lynn Ford. New Dues for Fall 2023!
Our new member dues transition the previous emerging and seasonal dues into standard dues and grant voting rights to all members of the league. All dues are now in one membership model by budget group, including lower budget tiers and rates.
We so appreciate your membership and all of us at the League hope you continue to find value in all that we do. Please don’t hesitate to contact us anytime with any questions or concerns you might have. These dues are now in affect for this upcoming renewal season in September 2023.

The Cook County Small Business Source proudly introduces The 2023 Source Grant, which will provide $40 Million in grants to small businesses to help stabilize operations, foster recovery and resiliency, and advance equity in a post-pandemic economy. The Sarah Siddons Society is proud to expand on its mission to further support the professional growth of the next generation of Chicago area theatre artists. This year is the inaugural offering of ten Professional Development Grants of $500 each to emerging theatre artist professionals. The purpose of these grants is to provide some financial assistance, at the discretion of the grantee, to assist in their professional development such as voice lessons, further training or headshots. While there is no age requirement associated with these grants, priority will be given to those beginning their careers. The Artistic Home is proud to introduce The Thebus Scholarship, a new scholarship program in honor of the late Mary Ann Thebus, an award-winning stage actress and a long-time Artistic Home Acting Studio instructor. The purpose of this scholarship is to give financial assistance to two young artists embarking on Meisner-based training. While there is no age requirement for this scholarship, priority will be given to early career actors. Applications are being accepted now until August 30th at 11:59pm. Lawyer's for the Creative Arts is hosting a Sexual Harassment Prevention & Bystander Intervention Training for Supervisors & Employers on Friday, December 8, 2023 from 1-4pm CT via Zoom. Lawyers for the Creative Arts wants to make sure that every arts organization with one or more Chicago employees is in compliance and has a clear understanding of their responsibilities under the new law. This training will satisfy the annual training requirement for Chicago Employers and includes the two hour Sexual Harassment Prevention Training for supervisors and managers and one hour Bystander Training for all employees, plus a Q & A session at the end.
