COVID in the House of Old – Gallery Walk & Honouring Karen Lewis

Foyer Gallery at the Squamish Library

Seven wooden storytelling chairs sit at the heart of the COVID in the House of Old exhibit, speaking to seven lives indelibly altered by the pandemic’s spread through long-term care.

One of the chairs honours Karen Lewis, a Squamish First Nation (Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw) resident at Hilltop House, a long-term care facility here in Squamish. 

Join the library for a gallery walk and open exhibit, honouring Karen and all of the lives lost to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Playing With Words: A Writing Workshop with Linda Simpson

Discover the exhilarating process of putting your story, fact or fiction, on the page.
Through accessible, and inspiring exercises, you will learn essential structure ingredients, how to generate ideas, and some writing hacks.

Anyone is welcome to these open office hours in the library’s Community Meeting Room, whether you’re a resident of Squamish Helping Hands needing help with paperwork, or the computer, or a community member who wants to connect with Squamish Helping Hands, or volunteer with Street Reach.


Free Legal Advocacy Drop-In:

The Legal Advocacy Program offers free advocacy support and assistance to financially restricted individuals and families in Squamish, Whistler, and Pemberton.
