Weekly Newsletter 10/13/2023

Dear Parents,

This week, our students in Rainbow, Orange, Purple, Brown, Silver, and Gold were treated to a performance of the play Strega Nona based on the children's book of the same name. They just loved seeing the actors from the Miami Children's Museum. If your child was in attendance on Thursday, you will see the billing for the On-Site Fieldtrip.

This week I was overcome with gratitude for all the families who have already turned on bags of candy and used/new costumes. They will all be donated to the local homeless shelter. Thank you also to the families who have sent in non-candy items and other trinkets for our costume parade. Please make sure to review the flyers posted outside the school so you can join us for the parade.

Our No Cook Wednesdays is becoming very popular. Not only are families able to take a night off cooking, but we are also on track to donate over $5000 to the Live Like Bella Childhood Cancer Foundation. Josh is now bringing help to make sure he can begin your orders when you arrive. Since Pizzas only take 5 minutes, there is little wait time. SO....to make this easier on EVERYONE... When you arrive, check in with him so he can start your order. Then if you wish to order for the following week, let him know. I will reprint the list each week and if you wish to come off, just CROSS OFF YOUR NAME by Monday morning and you will be deleted. Although he has been bringing 10 extras, they are ALL getting ordered and kids are still upset when they want one and he has run out, so if possible please preorder.

This week I left Miami with 4 of our wonderful teachers for a training conference in Orlando. I am excited to bring them back to share all their new skills with our students and staff.

This week I had the opportunity to jump in and teach a science lesson to our Kindergarten, First, and Second Graders. We reviewed tools scientists use (Pipettes and test tubes) and investigated to see how many drops of water would fit on the head of a penny. Many skills including the scientific method were practiced. By the end of October, I will begin teacher science experiments in our VPK classes. Our kids in Orange and Rainbow are visiting the lab for free exploration.

Finally, if you have not already done so and wish to have a FREE VENDOR SPACE at our school on the same day as the Country Walk Fall Festival on November 3rd, let me know ASAP as spaces are filling up. So far with have 3 crafters and 3 bakers who have requested a table. Please send me the message through the ADMIN message portal. There will be a huge turnout for the Country Walk festival and all those attendees will need to walk right past our vendors so it will be a great opportunity.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Beth Rosenthal Davis, Ed.S, NBCT
