Starting from Scratch: Recruitment and Community engagement : March 25, 10-11 a.m. This live training is designed for parenting providers who want to learn effective new strategies for recruiting and engaging families in their programs.


Parent and Provider Stressors & Barriers : March 5, 11 a.m.-12 p.m. In this CoP UM Team COACH discusses the stressors and barriers and providers that providers and parents face. They also come up with solutions to combat those barriers.


Recruitment, Outreach & Creating Support Networks : March 6, 10-11 a.m. In this CoP, UM Team COACH works collaboratively to problem solve recruitment challenges, create networks of outreach, and referrals across parenting providers in the community.

The Trust Releasing RFP for Signature Event Planning Services Soon

The Children’s Trust seeks to procure the services of one or more event planners to work collaboratively with the Communications Department in providing event planning services for up to two of its signature events: The Children’s Trust Family Expo and the Champions for Children Awards Ceremony. Through this Request for Proposals (RFP), The Trust will select one or more vendors to help plan and execute the events with applicants having the option to apply for one or both events. Final SEL PQA Community of Practice Sessions and CAT Questions Open House *

Join Project RISE for our final four sessions of the SEL PQA Best Practices Community of Practice. They will devote one session to each of the four domains of the SEL PQA: Safe Environment, Supportive Environment, Interactive Environment and Engaging Environment. As you prepare for your upcoming CAT observation, share best practices, ask questions, and collaborate with peers to deepen your understanding of this powerful reflection and assessment tool!

State of the Florida Girl Report

The Girl Scouts of Tropical Florida is excited to share the State of the Florida Girl Report, a comprehensive look at the unique challenges girls across our state face. The report dives into important areas critical to girls' wellbeing, including mental wellness, social connections, physical health, and academic performance. And it highlights the need to provide our girls with the resources and support they deserve to thrive. We're committed to using this data to inform our strategies and ensure every girl in our community has the opportunity to succeed. 


The State of the Florida Girl Report was commissioned by the Girl Scouts of Florida Association, comprised of six Girl Scout councils that serve girls across the state of Florida. Together, they provide girl-focused programming to 40,000 girls annually through the support of volunteers, donors, and partners.

Peace & Prosperity Empowerment Through Education Scholarship Available *

The Peace & Prosperity Empowerment through Education Scholarship is a Miami-Dade County Community Violence Intervention initiative that provides $2,500 scholarship awards to college-bound young adults impacted by gun violence, to support their higher education goals. The scholarship is for Miami-Dade County residents who are current high school seniors, graduating by August 1, and entering an accredited college or university in Fall 2025. Third Plateau, in partnership with Contina Impact, is inviting program directors and staff from arts and culture organizations across the U.S. to apply for a free 10-week cohort aimed at building program evaluation capacity. Youth Service America Hershey Heartwarming Young Heroes Youth Grants *

The purpose of this program is to support projects that address any issue or community need that is important to the youth project leaders and their peers. All proposed projects should engage a diverse group of youth volunteers from different social backgrounds and provide opportunities for those youth volunteers to create meaningful connections with their peers, caring adults, and community partners, while developing social awareness and relationship skills. The grants are for $250 or $500 and for youth grants for Youth Service Month & Global Youth Service Day projects. FREE Youth Mental Health First Aid Training *

Project Bridge's upcoming public trainings for Youth Mental Health First Aid will be held at Quest Workspaces- 121 Alhambra Plaza, Coral Gables, Suite 1000. They have a session set for March 14 & another on April 11. $10K Grant Opportunity for Dual-Language Education from Kemper Foundation

The Kemper Foundation is excited to announce a new grant opportunity: the Read Conmigo School Impact Grants! Mary Kay Ash Foundation Domestic Violence Shelter Grants

The Mary Kay Ash Foundation Domestic Violence Shelter Grants were established in 2000, awarding grants to shelters across the country providing critical, life-saving services to women and children seeking safety from an abusive situation. They are unwavering in their pledge to support those on the frontlines providing, emergency shelter, hope and healing for women and children experiencing violence.


Grants are awarded to emergency domestic violence shelters (with a physical shelter) providing innovative and life-saving services to women seeking safety from abuse. Mellon Foundation Grants Available for Community-Based Archives

The Mellon Foundation invites community-based archives in the United States and its territories to submit applications for general operating support. These grants may provide support in one or more of the following areas of need:

  • Operational costs, including staff, space, and utilities. 
  • Collections care, including the acquisition of new materials, physical and digital storage fees, and access and preservation efforts. 
  • Programming activities, including events, exhibitions, and increased community usage. 


Community-based archives are defined as organizations that gather and share materials as members of under-documented communities to preserve and celebrate their collective histories. These archives serve to affirm and uplift their community’s existence and identity, to help combat patterns of misinformation, and to provide a trusted environment for the perpetuation of community traditions, art forms, and languages, among other forms of empowerment. Citi Foundation Launches 2025 Global Innovation Challenge

The Citi Foundation announced a Request for Proposals (RFP) for its 2025 Global Innovation Challenge, which focuses on accelerating solutions for youth employability. With this RFP, the Challenge is committing $500,000 each to 50 community organizations developing innovative employment solutions for low-income youth.

 

The deadline for eligible organizations to register to apply is Tuesday, March 4, at noon. New York Time (Eastern Time) and recipients will be announced later this year. NNIP Grants Available to Advance Equity in Conditions that Affect Health

The National Neighborhood Inidicators Partnership is issueing a new Call for Proposals for the Local Data for Equitable Communities grant program, a collaboration between the Urban Institute and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation that will grant 30 nonprofits $50,000 each to use data to improve local conditions and help residents live their healthiest lives. Urban’s experience with NNIP has inspired and informed the development of this grant program. 


The team seeks proposals related to improving housing, transportation, community safety, climate and environment, the built environment, and other conditions so people will have a fair and just opportunity to reach their best health and wellbeing.

Tee It Up for the Troops Grants Available

Tee It Up for the Troops provides grants to approved 501(c)3 organizations who support past and present military personnel and their families, and align with the mission of the organization in these targeted areas of support:

  • PTSD & Traumatic Brain Injury treatment
  • Sports Rehabilitation
  • Suicide Prevention

This program seeks to increase the number of highly effective educators by supporting the implementation of evidence-based practices that prepare, develop, or enhance the skills of educators. This program will provide support for entities to develop, expand, and evaluate practices that can serve as models to be sustained and disseminated. Eligibility is limited to a) an IHE that provides course materials or resources that are evidence based in increasing academic achievement, graduation rates, or rates of postsecondary education matriculation; b) a national nonprofit entity with a demonstrated record of raising student academic achievement, graduation rates, and rates of higher education attendance, matriculation, or completion, or of effectiveness in providing preparation and professional development activities and programs for teachers, principals, or other school leaders; c) the Bureau of Indian Education; or d) a partnership consisting of — one or more entities described in paragraph (a) or (b); and a for-profit entity. No-Cost Training Fundamentals of Child CBT at UM

The Child and Adolescent Mood and Anxiety Treatment (CAMAT) program at the University of Miami is excited to offer a 10-week, 10-hour live virtual training series, called Fundamental of Child CBT: An Introduction to the Unified Protocol for Transdiagnostic Treatment of Emotional Disorders in Children and Adolescents (UP-C and UP-A). Through a generous gift from the Batchelor Foundation, it is able to offer free registration and continuing education (CE) credits (where applicable) to South Florida-based mental health providers and trainees. Business Controller

The Business Controller is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of The Children’ Trust. This includes, but is not limited to, the supervision of the work performed by the Accountants, Senior Accounting Analysts, Accounting Operations Manager and Fiscal Data Integrity Analyst of The Children’s Trust in accordance with The Children’s Trust (The Trust) procurement and accounting policies and procedures, Generally Accepted Principles (GAAP), regulations promulgated by the Governmental Accounting Standards (GASB) and Government Auditing Standards. As directed by the Finance Director, the Business Controller will be engaged in key functions such as planning, managing, monitoring and evaluating the fiscal activities and functions of The Trust and its service providing organizations to ensure that daily and long term financial activities and controls are created and maintained to achieve organizational objective and safeguard assets.

Natural Helper Needed at Advocacy Network on Disabilities *

The Natural Helper is responsible for providing assistance to the Families CAN! project by assuming responsibility for obtaining and maintaining programmatic and financial records related to Advocacy Network’s In-Home Supports and Emergency Financial Assistance Programs. This position utilizes their experience as a parent with a child with a disability to support families and assist in their success towards achieving their goals. The Natural Helper/Family Support Specialist supports success coaches working directly with families and assisting in all aspects of referral processes and maintaining family engagement in the care coordination process.  

Training and Experience Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent; proficient in Microsoft Office – especially Word, Excel, and Outlook; and a minimum of two years’ experience working in an office setting – preferably in a non-profit. Individual must be very detail oriented, good with numbers, and be able to effectively prioritize tasks and manage time. Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) essential.

Summer Instructional Coaches: Summer Instructional Coaches (ICs) are experienced and successful professional educators who provide content specific support for BTM Teaching Fellows throughout the summer and engage fully in the BTM community. ICs dictate the level of academic rigor during Breakthrough Miami’s summer program through their interactions with Teaching Fellows. They effectively communicate content specifics to Teaching Fellows, guide Fellows through effective planning and execution, and hold both Fellows and students to the highest standards. ICs are expected to lead department meetings, visit Fellows’ classes at least twice a week, evaluate lesson plans and curriculum overviews, and meet individually with Fellows regarding their on-going work. Since ICs are the only professional teachers on-site, they are accountable for the quality of instruction students receive, and are responsible for supporting BTM Teaching Fellows through their teaching experiences. This position will begin on June 7, 2025 and will end on August 1, 2025.


Summer Site Coordinators: Summer Site Coordinators (SSCs) are critical members of the summer administrative team and help ensure the smooth and safe operations of the Summer Institute at their assigned site. SSCs train, coordinate and oversee volunteers; supervise the summer food service program for Scholars and staff; order and keep an inventory of program supplies; coordinate general office administration; manage the Scholar drop off and pick up process; and assist with the execution of special events. This position will begin on June 7, 2025 and will end on August 1, 2025.


Summer Assistant Site Directors: Summer Assistant Site Directors (SASDs) work collaboratively with full-time directors at their assigned site to ensure a successful Summer Institute; and work closely with Scholars and their families, as well as Teaching Fellows to ensure their needs are met. SASDs assist with the coordination and management of student attendance and reporting; management of student information in the Breakthrough Miami student database; student discipline and conduct; Teaching Fellow training and professional development; implementation of the Teaching Assistant program; preparation of major events, including Visitors Day, Family Night, and other events as scheduled; and program evaluations during the final ten days of programming. This position will begin on June 7, 2025 and will end on August 1, 2025.
