Weekly Newsletter 10/06/2023

Dear Parents,

Now that October is here, we are excited to be planning our annual Halloween Happening. Please see the flyer sent this week in Brightwheel with the details. Families who are able are asked to start sending in 2 donation items.

1. A box or bag of NON-CANDY items (examples on the Flyer) for our parade.

2. A bag of candy for our students to assemble treat bags for homeless kids.

On the flyer, you will also see the schedule for the costume parade. Parents are invited. Limit 2 guests per child. We will also need volunteers for that day. There will be a sign-up sheet up soon.

In other news...Our teachers in Green, Red, Yellow, Blue, Rainbow, and Orange Door are in the process of screening their students with the ASQ (Ages and Stages Assessments). When they are done, we will be meeting with families as needed to go over the results and address any developmental delays we are seeing.

This week we also continued the NO COOK WEDNESDAYS which is turning out to be a huge success. This week Josh served 55 pizzas and donated another $65 to support children with childhood cancer. Please be sure if you are interested in ordering you sign up each week no later than 5:00 on Monday so he can make the dough fresh. I have printed out the order from this past week and it is hanging outside the school on the rolling whiteboard. EACH WEEK it will go up. If you wish to reorder, place an XX in the reorder box, you can also change your order. If you DO NOT want to order just cross yourself off. If you are not on the list, feel free to add yourself. This is how we will do it each week.

HOLIDAY BAZAR: I sent a message earlier this week to see if there are bakers or crafters who wish to have a FREE booth at a holiday bazaar. Luckily, I have been able to coordinate with Country Walk and they are happy to allow our parents to set up their tables here in the shopping center on the same day as their annual Fall Festival which gets a HUGE turnout. If you wish to sign up for a space or know someone who would like to join us, let me know. We will set up our tables at the end of the shopping center by the market and dry cleaner so as people walk over to the lake for the Country Walk show, they will have to pass our tables. Our spaces will be free. Country Walk charges $50 per space. I am happy to provide this service to our families.

As an annual sponsor of the Country Walk event, I will have a table there. I will be in one of the first spaces and will have a big sign letting people know that there are more vendors in our shopping center. Please send me a message in Brightwheel to confirm your space or spaces you need for friends and family who want to sell their goods. This will take place on Saturday, November 4th.

Finally, next week on Thursday afternoon and Friday all day, I will be taking 4 teachers to Orlando for the annual FLAEYC (Florida Association for the Education of Young Children) Conference. This 3-day training event will expose those teachers to wonderful sessions to learn and grow and help the children they teach. The following staff will be going:

Red Door: Miss Ashley

Yellow Door: Miss Yanet

Rainbow: Miss Krystelle

Orange Door: Miss Melanie

Have a Wonderful Weekend,
