Dr. Lee Butler, President of Iliff, to Present this Sunday

MAY 5: We are fortunate to have Dr. Lee Butler, the new President of the Iliff School of Theology, as the speaker, as part of our Wills Long lectureship series. He will speak on: John 15:9-17 "A Friendly Amendment". What is the meaning of sacrificial love within a society that sacrifices and consumes bodies? We will discuss the meaning of laying down one's life for friends.

MAY 12: Larry Volmert will facilitate a discussion regarding the growing coalition between the extreme MAGA Republicans and the extreme right “Christian” Nationalists, and the danger that poses to American democracy and to religious liberty and faithful Christian principles and practice. Come with your thoughts and insights to share in this discussion.

St. Barnabas Auction

June 8, 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm

A celebration of our community, talents, and gifts.

For those contributing an event or gift to the auction, posters are available to be picked up in Lukens each Sunday. Completed posters are due back to church on May 26. New to the Auction? Click here for further details. Copies are also available in Lukens.

The Auction is a time to connect, break bread, and of course, FUNdraise. In addition to hosting events such as dinners, hikes, game and movie nights, there is another way you can participate. St. Barnabas is full of members who have amazing gifts and talents–clothing designers, painters, knitters, bakers, linguists, poets, photographers, singers, composers, IT specialists–and more. Please consider offering your skill or gift as an Auction item. Everyone is welcome! Invite your neighbors, friends, family, and kids. If you are interested in volunteering, contact Barb Mattison or Sis Flor, Auction Co-Chairs.

Saturday's Earth Day Clean Up Was A BIG Success!

Lena Potyondy's comment says it all. "[With all the rain] I wasn't sure there'd be enough to do inside. I should have known better. There's ALWAYS something that needs to be done." But it wasn't just an inside job :-). Janet Manning and Tony braved the blizzard and did some pruning and clean up. THANK YOU to ALL who helped and to Walter Flor, who took most of the photos (hence the reason he's not in any of them :-( ).

Mission: As diverse faith communities, we work to reduce injuries, deaths, and the resulting grief caused by the improper use of firearms — whether suicidal, accidental, or criminal.
