Doctor Seuss Day
In honor of Doctor Seuss Day, just fourteen days past.
Vice Mayor Weiss read at last
More than one dozen children in Miss Davis’ class
Listened to Weiss reading Seuss, with pizzazz
About an elephant with a keen sense of hearing
Who saves a tiny planet from just disappearing.

Today in the mail came not one, but a mass
Of drawings and writings from the kids in the class
The words from Lake Park Elementary
were so very complimentary
Those friendly thank yous and kind things to say
It sure made him smile and it did make his day
For all that Vice Mayor Weiss had to do
Was read about Horton who once heard a who.

Thanks for your kindness, thank you to all
Next year we hope that Ms. Kinne will call
So that once more we can read and recall
That a person’s a person no matter how small.
