Let’s Learn & Pray Together

As the Feast of St. Francis quickly approaches on October 4, there are several wonderful opportunities ahead to learn and pray with our Sisters no matter where you live. We welcome you to join us for any of these events hosted by our sponsored ministries — St. Francis Center for Renewal, Monocacy Farm Project and the Franciscan Resource Center.

Autumn Painting Workshop

Bethlehem, Pa.

Join St. Francis Center for Renewal for Thankful, Grateful, Blessed, an evening of fun, painting, prayer and community in autumn painting workshop, happening this Friday, September 29. Artist Jillian Speranza will lead participants through a simple yet prayerful, gratitude-inspired painting to take home at the end of the evening — just in time for the upcoming season of thanksgiving.

This interactive program combines painting with friends with a spiritual Visio Divina (praying with art) experience. No experience painting? No problem! Jillian will assist all participants and be as hands-on as each person needs. Light snacks will be provided, and the event is BYOB. The event runs 7 to 9 p.m.

Monocacy Farm Food Fest

Bethlehem, Pa.

Join our Sisters and friends on the farm this Sunday, October 1, for the eighth annual Monocacy Farm Food Festival, a family-friendly day featuring local food, artisans and vendors; a petting zoo, crafts and activities, live music, farm tours, raffles, and bee demos with Jeff Csatari.

Enjoy live music, bring the kids for balloon animals and other hands-on activities, and enjoy unique foods and crafts created by folks in the Lehigh Valley. There is literally something for everyone!

The festivities run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Our suggested admission donation is $5 per person or $10 per family. Parking is free. While you're here, grab some official Monocacy Farm Project merch.

Season of Creation Reflection Program

Join our Sisters for Season of Creation: An Afternoon of Reflection from 2 to 3:30 p.m. this Sunday, October 1, at the Franciscan Resource Center in Pittsburgh, Pa. In this thought-provoking discussion, we will reflect on the Gift of Creation. All are welcome, and no RSVP is necessary. Freewill offerings accepted. Join our Sisters for a special come-and-go open house event from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, October 4, at our Franciscan Resource Center in Pittsburgh.
