  • Pay rate starting July 1, 2022:
  • Four or more periods/hours: $250 per day
  • One to three periods: $50 per period/hour
  • Supplement your income.
  • Create your own schedule.

Minimum Qualifications: California Teaching Credential or 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit

If you have a bachelor’s degree in any subject, meet one of the basic skills requirement (SAT, ACT, CSET, or CBEST passing scores), and successfully pass the Commission on Teacher Credentialing Live Scan fingerprinting (Form 41-LS), you meet the qualifications to apply for a 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit. Hillsdale High Community Garden Coming Together With Help from Volunteers
Photo collage of volunteers working in the Hillsdale Community Garden
Did you know that Hillsdale High School opened its Peace Pantry in May of 2019 serving just over 25 families through a small pantry stocked with donated items and goods purchased with donated funds? Since then, the need has grown significantly and they are now serving 150+ families with weekly groceries at its curbside pick-up.

Late this Spring and continuing into Summer, HHS with its might team of staff and parent/student volunteers, has been hard at work expanding the pantry through the implementation of a community garden on campus. The goal of the garden is to harvest fruits and vegetables for the pantry to continue to support HHS/Bridge families who are experiencing food insecurity.

Youth Climate Ambassadors Present Community Impact Projects

The third cohort of the San Mateo County Youth Climate Ambassadors (YCA) Program graduated at the end of May. This group of youth leaders worked incredibly hard over the past six months to learn about complex environmental issues and take tangible action in their communities to mitigate global warming and catastrophic climate change.

Each youth leader captured their experience and the impact of their community impact project in a case study and final presentation.
