Staff Spotlight

I have been CEC-DC's Business Manager Assistant for about a year and a half. I have greatly enjoyed working with all the other staff and our phenomenal students. Before, I worked in the Facilities Department for Denver Public Schools as a Crew Lead Custodian. So, I have worked in education for the last 6 years. I will graduate from FRCC with my AAS degree in accounting on May 9th. This August I begin earning my BSBA at CU Denver. Outside of work and school, I enjoy spending time with my fiancé, that I have been with for 14 years, and his family. I also enjoy taking our two old Jeeps four wheeling on various trails, as well as fixing and maintaining them together.

Hello! My name is Sonny Elserougi and I am so excited to be a part of the team at CECI! I was an elementary special education teacher for 14 years, before switching gears and working at a senior home in the activities department for a few years. I feel like I'm coming back home working in a school again!

I am a Colorado native, born and raised in Westminster, where I still live today! I have been married to my best friend for 10 years and we have a six-year-old Great Pyrenees who weighs more than I do, named Ben! In my free time I love to read, do yoga, paint, get lost in genealogy and play music. I look forward to getting to know everyone and becoming a valued member of the Colorado Early Colleges' community!

Advising Updates

Fall Class Schedules -- Things to know!

All returning students who have been advised should now have a fall class schedule. If you have not met with you advisor for course planning and approval, please contact your advisor directly to set up an appointment.

Please be aware that changes to your schedule may occur over the summer based on:

  1. Final spring semester grades and eligibility for fall classes
  2. Class cancellations
  3. Class time and day changes

If there is a change to your schedule, students and parents will be contacted by your academic advisor via email. Class schedules will not be visible in Infinite Campus until just before the start of school.

For students taking classes directly at the campus of one of our community college partners (or online), check your community college emails during the summer for information about your classes and possible class cancellations. If your class is cancelled, contact your CEC academic advisor immediately.

If you are not returning next school year, please notify your advisor or the school registrar.

SUMMER HOURS: Advisors will be available during the summer on Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday only. Additionally, all CECDC campuses are closed from June 28-July 9.

Important Spring Semester Deadlines

Please review these important dates listed below for the spring semester.

Community Service

While CEC does not require community service hours for graduation, it is still a good idea for students to find some community service opportunities. University admissions like to admit students who actively participate in their community, and it also provides students with work experience they can put on a job resume. Try to find an organization that supports something you care about and get involved. Volunteermatch.org is a great resource for finding opportunities in your area.
