Refer your recent grads to Lutheran Campus Ministry!
|
As you send your graduates to university this spring, Lutheran Campus Ministry-Twin Cities and campus ministries across the country, are preparing to welcome them well this fall, and to walk alongside them as they grow in faith throughout their college careers. But we need your help to connect with them!
There are a couple of ways you can refer your students going off to colleges/universities:
- Visit the "refer a student" button below to individually refer students. At the link, you'll select which college/university your student is attending, and then enter details that will help campus ministers reach out to your students and get them involved.
-
Email us (dana@umnlutheran.org) a spreadsheet with your graduates' names/best contact info/which college they're attending, and our staff can pass along names and get them connected to the campus ministry at their school.
We are so grateful for the ways you've cared for and nurtured these students thus far, and we are excited to partner with you in that work as they move through this next season of life. If you have any questions, reach out to Dana, our Program and Outreach Coordinator, at dana@umnlutheran.org!

Live the tag line in 2022
|
Join hundreds of ELCA congregations across the nation on Sunday, September 11, for the year's ELCA special day of service, "God's work. Our hands." Sunday. If your congregation is trying to decide a way to do ministry together on this day, Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota can help identify local service opportunities that helps the exploration of a basic Lutheran conviction: that all of life in Christ -- every act of service, in every daily calling and in every corner of life -- flows freely from a living, daring confidence in God's grace.

Striving to ensure excellence in leadership
|
|
“It’s not easy to be the church these days.” This is a common sentiment in mainline Christian denominations. We know there is a need for hope and grace and the power of the gospel, but the ways of communicating that and the ways of being church in the world are shifting beneath our feet. How much more has this become true in the two years as we have attempted to negotiate the added challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic?
In response to this truth and the desire to raise up courageous, resilient, and faithful leaders, the Rocky Mountain Synod, ELCA has created a leadership initiative called Excellence in Leadership. It is an 18-month investment, with classes meeting 1-2 times per month, which will provide tools and resources to last a lifetime.
This initiative is grounded in authentically claiming our identities as individuals and as church. By engaging deeply in the studies of adaptive leadership, vulnerability, emotional intelligence, family systems, Theory U, and spiritual practices, we will be stepping forward to meet the future boldly. The Rocky Mountain Synod is inviting participants from all regions and walks of life – lay or rostered, young or old. That includes you!
The deadline for registration is Friday, September 2, 2022.

Upcoming National Lutheran Choir concerts
|
Join the choir in person and virtually for a variety of NLC experiences. The annual All Saints program will include John Rutter’s Requiem. The Christmas Festival will feature favorites from the last 20 years, as well as some new works. In the spring, the NLC will celebrate Artistic Director David Cherwien’s final performance with the choir at the Spring Concert.
While tickets and season passes are available for in-person events, a Virtual Subscription is an opportunity to connect with the choir online.
