Dear Rondout Families, Faculty and Friends,

We are enthusiastically preparing for the students return and cannot wait for the 23-24 school year to begin. If you are a new family, our PTSA would love to be able to include your information in the PTSA Family Directory. We do however need your consent to provide them with the information. A consent form was included in your enrollment packet and additional copies are available by contacting the office.

The Book Clubs scheduled for August 10th have been cancelled due to lack of enrollment. The Open Library Event and Meteor Show viewing are still on the agenda. Subscription boxes may be picked up on the 10th as well if payment has been received.

Our custodial/maintenance team Danny Segundo, Nestor Segundo and Katya Marinova have been working on cleaning, painting and sprucing up the building for the new school year. We want to give them a huge shoutout for all their hard work along with our outstanding office team, Mary Amidei, Britany Reed and Vicki King who have also been doing an extraordinary job closing out 22-23 and getting ready for 23-24.

Please be sure to check out the following information regarding Intake Parent Conferences on 8/24/2023 and sign up for conference time(s).

K-5 conference will be held with homeroom teachers and parents. This session will offer parents and teachers an opportunity to exchange information to best support each student’s educational experience. This two-way conversation is designed for parents to share insights about their child, ask questions and connect with their child’s homeroom teacher. Teachers will also be able to share some key highlights of the year ahead. To ensure productive and helpful dialogue, this conference is designed for parents and teachers only. Please be sure to sign up on the list for your child (children’s) grade level(s) using the link below.

The Upper School (Grades 6,7 and 8) is piloting a new model for intake conferences this year. The model will include parents, the grade level homeroom teacher, students and Dr. Wojcik or Ms. Davis. The focus will be on goal setting, reviewing expectations and schedules. Parents and students will also check in with specialists and subject area faculty to review subject specific information about special subjects and upcoming events.

When sending us copies of health forms please ask your doctor to mail the forms to us or you can bring in a copy.

Calendar Highlights 2023-2024 updated 8.4.2023*

* Please note the only change on the calendar highlights is on October 12, 2023 students will be released at 2:30 p.m. for Family Open House Night.

Please download our app for the most to date information in the Apple and Google Play store by searching Rondout School District 72.

Join us in the garden to weed, water, harvest and photograph our garden. Activities will vary each week but help will be needed weather permitting. Each Garden Party morning, we will send out an all school text confirming activities and the time along with updates of weather cancellations. All are welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Gardens will generally be scheduled in the mornings to avoid the heat of the afternoon and evening.
