A New Pipe Organ for SAKLC!
|
|
We are thrilled to announce that, at a special congregational meeting held after worship on July 30th, the members of SAKLC voted unanimously to approve the purchase of a new pipe organ for our Sanctuary, built by the Schantz Organ Company of Orrville, Ohio! The congregation also approved the creation of a special Organ Reserve Fund, which will be used to provide for long-term care and maintenance of the instrument, to create a scholarship competition for young musicians drawing national and international attention to SAKLC, and to help with concert and program funding for the instrument. We are seeking to raise at least $1.5 million for this organ project. To date, we have already received gifts and pledges in the amount of $1 million! We are sincerely thankful to everyone who has already stepped up, but we now need your help to reach our goal. Every gift is important. A fund-raising campaign will be announced soon and we look forward to sharing this opportunity with you!

This is a great time to complete this quick survey on “cool technology” uses. It only takes a few minutes. Think about church services you have attended. What stood out or made it more effective for you? Then simply jot down your thoughts. Our Task Force values your thoughts and experiences. It will become part of the recommendations for technology improvements at
SAKLC. Simply click on the link below and take a few minutes to complete this one question survey.

Thank you in advance for your input. As a small way of saying “thank you”, popsicles will be available before and after the August 6 Sunday service. Special thanks to our anonymous donor for providing this cool treat. Watch for our second and final survey that will be available next week. This will be more in- depth as we continue to seek feedback and information on technology use at SAKLC. Stay tuned!

Medical Equipment Donations
Do you have lightly used medical equipment you are no longer using? SAKLC could use these donations! We often get requests from members and friends who are looking for something to borrow for a short period during recovery. We also sometimes need equipment on Sunday mornings. Storage space is an issue, so we can only take a few pieces in good or like-new condition. Contact the Church Office if you have a donation. We would be grateful!
- Wheelchairs
- Walkers (with or without seats)
- Canes

Pastor Ken's Weekly Bible Study
|
|
Each week, throughout the year, Pr. Ken leads a Bible study on Wednesday mornings, from 11:00am-noon in-person and via zoom. The class discusses the Scripture texts assigned for the forthcoming Sunday worship services. Pr. Ken shares a calendar month of handouts in advance, so that participants can look ahead, and read the comments of Lutheran scholars prior to each session. Each week there is a good mix of lay people, and retired pastors, with each group brining their unique perspectives on life and Scripture – it’s a fun group! Click the button below to join the Bible study via zoom.
