DC Unclaimed Property Reporting
Unclaimed property consists of tangible and intangible property that has been abandoned
for one to five years such as: refunds, wages, bank accounts, utility deposits,
insurance policy proceeds, and more.

Step 1: Review records to identify unclaimed property.

  • Payroll checks issued 07/01/20 – 06/30/21
  • Patient account balances as of 07/01/18 - 06/30/19
  • Uncashed refund checks issued 07/01/18 – 06/30/19
Have no unclaimed property?
A Zero (Negative) Report is required.
Step 2: Send due diligence notices.


  • Send between 07/01/22 and 08/31/22.
Step 3: Complete forms and submit with a check to Georgia Department of Revenue, Unclaimed Property Program.
  • All amounts must be remitted to the state.
  • If known, have the following information available when reporting: Owners full name, last known address, social security number (SSN) or federal tax identification number (FEIN), amount owed & date of last transaction.
