A Service Day to Remember

By Principal Margaret Taranto

This past Tuesday, Campus Minister Theresa Moran’s vision to ensure that our community  lives the Charism of the Sisters of the Holy Names, came to fruition. After countless hours of emails, phone calls, spreadsheets and boundless patience, she and Ms. Witherspoon paired two hundred fifty students, faculty and staff with sixteen non-profit agencies. This amazing experience would not have been possible without their determination and dedication.

Month of Simple Giving

SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) will be collecting personal items for Grassroot Givers' Month of Simple Giving beginning on Monday, October 23

The group will be collecting full-size shampoo, full-size toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant (men and women), 2-packs of razors, and bars of soap. These items will be assembled into kits and provided to men and women leaving the shelter or those on a fixed income. Boxes will be placed in the front lobby by SADD's bulletin board and the collection will run until November 14.  The combined classes that bring in the most items will receive a dress down day!

Softball for a Cause

For her senior service project, Alexa Gross is organizing a softball fundraiser to benefit Albany Med’s Division of Forensic Medicine on Sunday, November 12. See the graphic for contact information.

Rear Admiral Addresses Students

Know your values. Be resilient, and no matter what you choose to do in life, be ALL IN. That's the advice students from Rear Admiral Nancy Lacore '86, Commandant of the Naval District of Washington.

We thank her for taking the time to speak with our students. A special thank you also goes out to Christian Brothers Academy for providing a Color Guard, and for members of the class of '86 for joining us (Stenia Dziadiw Cardona, Megan Caulfield McMahon, Christine Caputo-Granich, and our own Annemarie McGarry)!
