New Hours of Operation at Disaster Recovery Center

JIC Recovery Release No. 97


Effective August 2, 2023, the Disaster Center located at the Guam Community College will be extending its hours of operation. The new hours are as follows:


Guam Community College, 1 Sesame St, Building E, Mangilao, GU 96913, will be open from Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am - 6:00 pm, and Saturday from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. Sundays will be closed.


Although the deadline to apply for FEMA individual Assistance has passed, the Disaster Recovery Center at the Guam Community College will remain open to provide vital support for ongoing recovery efforts. Click here to read more on JIC Recovery Release No. 97

School Mission Completed, Residental Debris Mission Ramps Up

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Typhoon Maawar debris mission for the public schools has already completed debris removal from 41 schools across the island. USACE has completed this mission well ahead of their projected August 8 completion date.


The residential debris project is a free program available for all residential properties including apartments and condominiums. Two companies were contracted to carry out the debris removal project, Environmental Chemical Corp. and Pacific Federal Management.

More than $200 Million in Federal Assistance Flows in Guam following Typhoon Mawar

While the application period for federal assistance has ended, federal assistance continues to make its way into the hands of the Guam survivors of Typhoon Mawar. To date, more than $201 million in low-interest disaster loans from the SBA and directed disaster assistance through FEMA have flowed into communities to help jumpstart the recovery process. Be Heartfelt are excited for your interest and participation in their Canstruction Competition as they seek to help Guam's kids who are in need. To help with their food drive competition, they like to place a Be Heartfelt donation drive box at your organization/office and to encourage others to come out and support all of the Towers for Humanity at the Agana Shopping Center.
