Welcoming Winter
With the winter solstice now behind us, we are settling in for the remainder of the season, planning and preparing for spring!

Last week, our Tree Team got the young trees up at the Treehouse tucked away for winter. Keeping temperate trees dormant in the greenhouse just isn't an option because of, you guessed it, the Greenhouse Effect. Even in the depths of January, we've clocked the internal temperature of the Treehouse at over 80°F. In order to ensure our trees don't prematurely break dormancy, we bring all of them outside, lay them down for a long winter nap and cover them to keep them nice and chilly until spring arrives.
There's Still Time to Support our Annual Appeal
If you've not yet had a chance to contribute to our Annual Appeal, there is still time to lend your support to our efforts on behalf of Newport's urban forest.

Visit NewportTreeConservancy.org/Donate to make your deductible contribution before the end of the year.

To continue this work we need your support; we cannot plant and care for our shared forest without you. Please consider a contribution to the Newport Tree Conservancy and join us in our mission to plant for the future.
