A Very Busy Sunday this Week and Next

Living Stones

Hi everyone,

Mother Susan has given the thumbs up for having our delayed February Living Stones seminar this Sunday (2/23) in the usual location between the services to make up for the weather-cancelled one last Sunday. The link to the essay we'll be considering is below. Donna, if you could put this in the e-newsletter, that would be great. Thanks—I'll see you all on Sunday!

We are looking for leaders and readers for the Stations of the Cross Fridays in Lent at 6 pm.

Time is running short so I will do a brief training after both services this Sunday as well as March 2. ALL are welcome to participate.

Contact Mother Susan with questions.

Burning palms for Ash Wednesday will take place on Sunday, March 2 after the 10 am service.

Please put last year’s palms in the basket next to the font before then.

 Burying the Alleluia!

On Sunday, March 2 following the dismissal (and before we go outside to burn the palms) the children of the parish will be helping to bury the alleluia for Lent. Mr. Carl will be helping them prepare their signs in class. They will reappear on Easter morning!

ORGAN PLUS Concert

The Rhode Island chapter of the American Guild of Organists will present a concert entitled ORGAN-PLUS at Trinity Church at 4:00 PM, Sunday, March 2nd. The concert features area organists, instrumentalists, and singers performing repertoire that features the organ as an accompanying instrument. Following the concert, performers and audience members are invited to a reception in the church hall.

This concert and reception will also serve as a commemoration of the 25th anniversary of our organ's dedication in 1999, having been built following the fire that damaged much of Trinity Church in 1997.

The organ at Trinity Church was built by the Schantz Organ Company of Orrville, Ohio, one of the leading pipe organ builders in the country, founded in 1873. Its bright, “singing” tone and range of sounds (from the quiet, string-toned stops and bubbly flutes to a plangent Oboe stop and bright trumpets), make it an ideal accompanying instrument, with a range of tonal colors that belie its relatively small size.

For further information, please call the church at 401-941-4324 or visit www.trinitycranston.org, and on Facebook @trinitypawtuxet.

Help Needed for the reception after the concert

As the host church, we will be providing the the food and drinks for the reception as well as setting up, serving and cleaning up. If you can help, please contact Barbara Chartier, bchartier48@verizon.net; Ginny Simms, johnandginnysimms@gmail.com; or Donna Tobin, tobindlb@icloud.com.

Last Sunday's Sermon

By Mother Susan

If it is true, as I have been positing, that God is waiting for us to act, with Jesus’ teachings today we no longer have the excuse that we don’t know what to do.

FOOD DONATIONS Always needed for the

Ecumenical Food Closet

This is a photo of donations being delivered today.  The snow this week did not weaken donations made.

The usual supplies are still needed: soups, pasta, beans, cereal and snacks.  Let’s not forget our furry family members.  Thank you again for all donations.
