Learn About Homes With Hope This Thursday

This Thursday (May 2), Helen McAlinden, Chairperson of Homes with Hope, will bring us up to date on the critically important services they provide to the more than 100 homeless people in Westport (yes, Westport) and many others in surrounding communities. She will cover benefits provided, the support needed, and show a video to educate us about Homes with Hope and how the Y’s Men can support this organization.

We are proud to count many Y’s Men among those who have chaired and served on the board, and others who have supported Homes with Hope over the years.

Helen will speak at the regular, weekly Thursday morning Y's Men meeting in Hoskins Hall of the Saugatuck Congregational Church, 245 Post Road East, Westport. Coffee, donuts and conversation from 9:00 to 10:00 am; business meeting from 10:00 to 10:30 am; and speaker with Q&A from 10:30 to 11:30 am.

At the request of Homes with Hope, the presentation will not be recorded so it will not appear on the Y's Men website under Meeting Videos 2024.

You Are Needed for the Program Committee

The Program Committee brings to the Y's Men's weekly Thursday morning meetings a roster of speakers who are experts in their fields, good presenters, and fun to listen to. Demand to speak at Y's Men meetings is quite high. If you enjoy picking up the phone, connecting with a stranger, and pitching them on speaking to the Y’s Men, you are needed for this committee.

We are seeking Y's Men volunteers to join the committee as we gear up for the new Y’s Men year beginning June 1, 2024 through May 31, 2025. All meetings will be held on Zoom. We are looking particularly for members who have potential contacts with interesting speakers who can address our membership on a variety of subjects that could be of interest to them.

If you are interested, please contact Ron Holtz at ronholtz.ysmen@gmail.com or call him at 203-993-4970.
