Volunteer Firefighter Recruitment

Are you wanting to give back or become more involved in your community? Wheatland County Fire Services is recruiting volunteer firefighters!

Minimum Requirements:

• 18 years of age

• Valid Class 5 Alberta drivers’ licence

• No criminal record

• Good physical health

ASB Bursary Application

2023 ASB Bursary

The Wheatland County Agricultural Service Board (ASB) invites students pursuing post-secondary education in agriculture or environmental science to apply for the ASB Bursary! Up to $6000 in bursaries are awarded annually, ranging from $500 to $1500 based on the number of eligible applicants.

The FIRE BAN ADVISORY was lifted in Wheatland County on June 26, 2023

Should conditions change or start to deteriorate, a fire ban for Wheatland County could be reinstated.

TWP RD 280

Crews will be performing road rebuild and culvert upgrading on Township Road 280 between Highway 21 and Range Road 244 from July 2023 to October 2023.

There will be partial lane closures for the duration of the project. The contractor will ensure local traffic will always have access to their residences and land for farming. All other traffic that is nonessential will be detoured around from the work area.

TWP RD 270

To facilitate road stabilization works, Township Road 270 will be closed between Range Road 212 and Range Road 215 from July 31 to August 4, 2023. All traffic will be detoured as shown.

TWP RD 222

Wheatland County crews will be re-sealcoating Township Road 222, the Gleichen east access, from August 8 to 18, 2023. During the construction period, some intermittent road closures will be in effect, stretching from Highway 547 to Highway 901.
