Winter Newsletter 2022
From the Desk of Julie
Dear Friend,

We are very excited to be celebrating our 110th anniversary! Throughout the year, we will have activities and events to celebrate our “Healthcare Heroes through History”. We have so many amazing stories to be proud of throughout the past 110 years, starting with Norma Snow, our founder. Check out our history here.

We continue to receive many wonderful letters of gratitude, community accolades, and beautiful stories of healing and compassion because of the work that we do. We are also the recipient of your generosity, and for that, we are so grateful. We were built on philanthropy, and that sustains us today, allowing us to provide underfunded services, care to the uninsured, specialty services and community care services.

Thank you for your ongoing and most generous support!

Healthcare Heroes Through History - Did You Know?
In the 1920s, The Red Cross identified community health nursing as a critical need and provided a car and a part-time assistant for the visiting nurse.

According to a Foster’s Daily Democrat news article on February 3, 1920, the “idea of securing an auto for the use of the visiting nurse” was initially discussed.
Here are 2 of our very own Heroes! Megan Casey, RN and Sandy Powers, RN (quoted in the blog post below). Megan has 2 fingers up for her 2 years here and Sandy has a 3 and a 1 for her 31 years here!
Welcome New Board Members
Three new board members have joined our ranks! We are very pleased to welcome David Richard, D.F. Richard Energy, Marilyn Staff, BSN, RN, CCM, FedPoint, and Laura Davie, Institute for Health Policy and Practice.

“There’s something remarkable and rewarding about caring for patients in the home setting, often at their most acute and vulnerable states, and being part of an agency (family) that provides endless support and appreciation.

I don’t just love what I do, I live for it.”
