IMPORTANT SOCIETY NEWS AND UPDATES

Increase in Society Membership Dues for MY25

We want to notify all members of an upcoming increase to CFA Society Mississippi membership dues when renewal opens in May for the 1 July 2024 to 30 June 2025 membership year. Membership dues will increase from USD 70 to USD 100. This price change will apply across regular (which includes charterholder and noncharterholder) and affiliate categories.

Reason for Increase: Membership dues have remained steady since the founding of our Society in the mid-1980s, despite great cost increases as a result of inflation and a steady decrease in funding from CFA Institute. The Society's Board of Directors formally voted in unanimous favor to increase dues at our recent board meeting in March.

This increase in dues will allow us to maintain and continue to improve in several areas that provide value and benefits to our membership. Such areas include the continual development of relevant and engaging programming opportunities for our members, including professional learning and networking opportunities, and further strengthening of our university/college outreach to both students and faculty.

If you have any questions about the increase in dues, please email us here.

CFA Exam Materials Scholarships Available

As expressed in recent Society emails, CFA Society Mississippi is encouraging applicants for the two categories of our Kaplan Schweser study materials scholarships.

We have 5 general scholarships available and 3 women's scholarships available to our 2024 CFA Exam candidates. These study materials scholarships are open to students enrolled at most Mississippi (and many North Louisiana) colleges and universities. We are especially targeting students and individuals who have already joined or who express their genuine intent to join CFA Society Mississippi.

To apply, each applicant simply needs to email us stating (1) their interest and/or intent to join CFA Society Mississippi and (2) an expression of interest in applying for this scholarship.

If you know someone who may be interested in applying for the above scholarships, please instruct them to reach out to us at our Society's inbox: "info@mississippi.cfasociety.org."
