Please check your email Inbox for a follow-up letter that was sent on April 11. We are very blessed that a few more families have responded with a pledge – THANK YOU to all families who have already pledged! However, we still need 100% participation to meet our $6M goal - $3M from our parents. Hopefully, you have seen the video from Mrs. Dana Lupton that further highlights one of the projects we want to pursue with the funds raised. You can see the full list of projects from our Campaign school website linked here and the QR code will take you directly to our Donation Page.

Our current tuition structure only includes the expenses needed to educate your student(s) for the current academic year. It does not contain any financial component toward capital additions or significant improvements to our campus, only minor maintenance repairs and periodic replacement of existing assets, and even then, we rely on grants and/or other donations to make these changes. Please prayerfully consider a sacrificial gift to help us in reaching our goal. With the implementation of the new State Scholarship program, we hope that every family will be willing to contribute to our Campaign by sharing some of your scholarship savings for the improvements identified.

We also ask that you join us in praying our campaign prayer below for the success of our Campaign and the safe and rapid completion of these much-needed projects for the benefit of our students and school community.

"God of love and truth, we turn to you in all that we undertake. As we commit ourselves to the improvement of Pensacola Catholic High School in this campaign, we ask you to pour out your blessings upon all who participate. We are driven by a desire to further the formation and education of your sons and daughters in this place. Help us, by your most powerful grace, to build faith, to build family, to build tradition as we continue to build Catholic High. Amen."
Senior Parent Mass

Our Senior Parent Mass is this Friday, May 3, at 10:00 a.m. We invite all of our Senior parents to join us as we begin graduation celebrations for our Senior Class. Senior students will be dismissed from school at 11:15 a.m. All other students will be dismissed at 2:55 p.m.

There will be a Dedication and Blessing of our new classroom wing on Wednesday, May 1, during homeroom at 8:45 a.m.

We are eternally grateful to all of the generous donors that contributed to our Capital Campaign to make this dream and urgent need a reality. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts!

Excitement is building as we are about to open up the doors to the new wing, which will allow us to better serve our students and staff.

We would like to thank the architect, Danny Grundhoefer, with Quina Grundhoefer Architects. Thanks also to the general contractor Bear Construction. Thank you to all of the other subcontractors who worked on this project. Lastly, a special thank you to our Facilities Director, Matt Adams, for his leadership on this project!

Below is a link to information sent to us by the Naval Aviation Museum. It explains the details of some wonderful programs available to our students at the Museum.

There is a deadline to enroll your student in some of these that is coming quickly!

Click here to learn more about Shopraise, a fundraising platform similar to Amazon Smile that can help all of our CHS supporters raise money for the school while shopping. If you plan to do any online shopping, please consider using this service.
Beginning with the 2023-24 school year, Parking Permit Hang Tags, color-coded by grade, are issued to each student who plans to drive to school any day. Faculty, also, utilize parking permit hang tags. During the school day, student cars may be parked in a CHS lot/space only if they contain a parking permit clearly displayed. Students may park only in the area defined for their class. Parking permit tags will be kept throughout the student's enrollment at CHS and will be collected prior to graduation/withdrawal.

Distribution of the tags to students took place during the week of Aug. 14. The form on which to register a car for parking is the last page of the Parent/Student Handbook, which students received on 8/10. The form should have been completed, signed by the parent, and turned in by Aug. 16 to the student's Homeroom Teacher. If your form was not turned in by the deadline, please hand it into the Front Office immediately. If the student is turning 16 later in the school year or will begin driving later in the school year, the form can be turned in once they start driving to school.

The athletic eligibility requirements for 2023-24 have been updated and can be accessed from our school website.

Several of our spring sports athletes have physicals (EL2) and athletic compliance forms (EL3) that are expiring before their seasons are scheduled to conclude. Physicals are good for 1 year or 365 days from the date the physical is conducted. Athletes will not be able to compete in any event or contest unless they have a physical on file with our compliance office that is current and covers the competition period. This includes spring football and all other spring sports.
Great Gift with a Dual Purpose
The next few months have several occasions for gift-giving such as a birthday, anniversary, or Christmas gift, etc. Why not consider the gift of a CHS Commemorative Brick that will be placed at the outside entrance to the CHS Gym? These bricks are a wonderful opportunity to celebrate family milestones and honor or memorialize loved ones. Buy a brick engraved with the year you graduated, when your parent(s) or child(ren) graduated, in honor of your favorite teacher, in memory of fallen classmates, a special person in your life, etc.

Looking for the perfect holiday, birthday, or anniversary gift? A commemorative Catholic High brick might be just the thing to create a unique and lasting memory visible for you and your family to admire for a lifetime. The clay bricks are 8" X 8" and will accommodate engraving of up to 6 lines with a maximum of 21 characters per line. Use the link pensacolachs.org/bricks to access the web form to order and pay for your commemorative brick(s). Once we have an order for five or more bricks we will place the order with the brick company. All proceeds from the sales will go to the Building on Faith, Family & Tradition Capital Campaign.
The Dress Cody Policy for 2023-24 has been updated and can be accessed through the school website.

Important Policies and Protocols
Semester Exam Policy
CHS implemented a policy in 2014 that continues to be in effect and pertains to students who miss semester exams in either December or in May. This policy states: Students who miss semester exams for serious family emergencies or serious health reasons are excused and may make them up. Students absenting themselves from exams for any other reason(s) may NOT make up exams and will receive a zero for each.

Please be aware of these dates when planning family trips, etc. We first informed/reminded parents of this policy in April of 2021 for this school year. It is also contained in the CHS Parent/Student Handbook that all parents and students are required to read. So this is simply a reminder for you so that family plans will not conflict with our semester exams. As always, we ask you NOT to remove your child from school until his/her last exam is completed. Thank you so much!!

Students may earn exemption from a semester exam in a course if they have 2 or less absences in that course for the semester (remembering that 3 tardies to a class count as 1 absence), if the student’s academic average in the course is a C or better and their overall average in all courses is a 2.5 or better at the end of the first quarter in that semester (Q1 or Q3). Any student who does not have BOTH of these criteria is required to take exams. Every student in 9th-12th grade will take one mandatory exam per semester. The course in which the exam will be given this May will be announced later in the semester. This mandatory exam will be scheduled on the first exam day which is May 21 in 2024. No student should be absent from school until after this mandatory exam!

Lunch Protocol
Lunch may not be dropped off for students. Students have the option to bring their lunch from home or purchase it in our Student Life Center. Parents that wish to buy their kids lunch using their ID badge can set up an account with SLA. If a parent provides snacks for a club meeting or event, they must be store-purchased and individually store-wrapped. No homemade snacks may be brought in for any event. Thank you for helping us to maintain these important protocols.

Parents and Students' Responsibilities for Early Dismissals
Students must bring a note from the parent to the Front Office in the morning before 7:45 a.m. if he/she will need to be dismissed early that day for any reason. The school is unable to dismiss students early if they did not bring in this note from the parent prior to school on the day of the needed dismissal. This is true whether the student will return to school that day or not. Please do not call, email or text the Front Office during the school day to request that your child be dismissed at that time. Also, please remember our policy that students may not be dismissed within 30 minutes of the dismissal time at the end of any day.

Parents' Responsibility Regarding Student Absence from School
All parents and students must adhere to the following:
  • If your child is going to be absent for a short period of time (1-3 days), please call the Front Office (850-436-6400) by 8 a.m. and leave a message on the attendance mailbox (#2 on our phone system menu), letting us know your child will be out that day. You must also send an absence excuse note in with your child when they next return to school.

  • If your child is going to be absent for a prolonged period of time (more than 3 days) for whatever reason (death in the family requiring travel, a family trip, a serious illness or injury, surgery, etc.), please call the front office (850-436-6400) and report the full details regarding your child's absence (expected length of time, nature of the absence, etc.). You must also send an absence excuse note in with your child when they next return to school. Thank you!
