Enjoy a Self-Guided Tour of the San Diego Zoo Safari Park with fellow HCS families! Experience the free shows and animal presentations throughout the day for great learning fun! Registration closes on 4/29/24 or when full, whichever comes first.

France & Italy 2025 Trip
June 16-25, 2025
There is still room to join this amazing trip in June of 2025. Be on the lookout for several informational parent meetings coming up in May before the school year ends. Get Your HCS Ball Cap!
The Softball Club is selling HCS ball caps for $25 to help support the Girls Fastpitch Softball program.

Annual Girls Softball Scrimmage

The HCS Girls Softball Team would like to invite you to our 4th annual All-Team Scrimmage! The HCS Band will be playing our National Anthem at 8:55 am and the first pitch is at 9:00 am.
The Ballfield is located DOWN THE HILL from the Rec Center Building. There is a parking lot at the Ballfield and at the Rec Center Building, as well as parking along the streets.
Bleacher space is limited, so lawn chairs and blankets are suggested.
A concession stand will be available and will accept cash or Venmo.

Mime Club is Sharing the Gospel
Mime Club has several events coming up where the youth will have the opportunity to share the Good News of the Gospel using their creative arts skills!
We appreciate your prayers for these opportunities, and we invite you to come support us by watching us perform at the San Diego County Fair from 1pm - 2pm on the Funville Stage on June 13, 2024.

Discover the power of silence with "Silent Sermon," a mime production presented by HCS Mime Club showcasing their incredible work from the year. This unique performance communicates the message of the gospel through captivating choreography and expressive storytelling.
Witness as these talented students bring biblical stories to life through mime, exploring themes of faith, redemption, and hope. This production is the fruit of their creativity and dedication.
Tickets will be available to purchase soon. Stay tuned for more information, and come support HCS students for an unforgettable evening of gospel-inspired mime.

Senior Speech Contest Now Open
An email regarding the Senior Speech Contest was sent last week.
The deadline to submit speeches is May 6th. Details and online submission instructions may be found in the email or online HERE.

Seniors Boards
Seniors, start working on your boards! The Senior Photo and Memory Display board is a fun walk down memory lane. They should include photos and memorabilia of your choosing that reflect your life (i.e. childhood, friends, activities, awards, etc.). The displays will be viewed at the graduation ceremony. You can find more information and specifications for creating these boards on our website.

Senior Dinner
May 8 | 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm
The Senior Dinner is a special time between the seniors and their parents. Held as a casual event over dinner, senior parents are able to give a short, public blessing to their seniors. Seniors are also welcome to write a thank you letter to their parents, and read it aloud or share privately. Catered by Ranch Events. The weekly newsletter submissions deadline is 12 noon on Thursday to news@hcssd.org. This newsletter is for notices of interest to the entire school regarding HCS-sponsored events, with the exception of pre-authorized clearance for listings in the Classified section. Notices specific only to a group should go to that group’s contact list only.
HCS exists to support and encourage Christian families in the high calling of biblical discipleship through Christ-centered home education by providing administrative help, mentoring, classes, and parent-driven activities, all while honoring family sovereignty.
