Materials: Dissolvable paper cut into strips or half sheets, a plastic jug of water, a spoon, and markers.
After someone dies, it is common to have regrets about things you wish you could have done or said differently. It is also normal to feel worried.
Directions:
On the dissolvable paper, write down worries or regrets you have. You can use the following prompts:
- I worry...
- I regret...
- I wish I would have...
One at a time, place the water-soluble paper in the jar of water and stir the water gently as the paper and words dissolve. As your message dissolves, notice how the paper disappears but you can still see remnants.
While worries or regrets may not fully go away, it can help to talk about them with others and not hold them alone.
