Dear St. Mary School New Families and incoming Kindergarten Parents,
Thank you for choosing St. Mary School as your partner in your child's education. We look forward to welcoming you to the 2022-2023 school year and making your child feel at home!
This email provides "need to know" details to reference over the summer as you begin to plan for the new school year. You will receive any school-wide communication sent over the summer with pertinent information and all the Back to School News starting in August.
Mark your calendars now. We will welcome Kindergarten Students and all Grade 1-3 Students on Tuesday, August 23, from 4:00-5:00 pm to visit their classrooms, meet their teacher, and drop off school supplies.
For new students in Grades 4-8, your child's homeroom teacher will email you in mid-August to arrange a mutually convenient time to come and meet them and visit the classroom.
Please don't hesitate to contact us in the school office if we may help you in any way. We can be reached by email and have official office hours from 9:00 am - NOON / Monday- Thursday in June. The school office is closed in July and will reopen the first week of August.

Cincinnati Public Schools (CPS) Residents
BUS TRANSPORTATION
As the 2022-2023 school year approaches, Cincinnati Public School (CPS) will be creating bus routes over the summer. PLEASE NOTE: Although your child is a non-public school student, CPS is responsible for providing public transportation for your child should you choose to use it. Under Ohio law, students are eligible for CPS transportation services if they reside within school district boundaries and are at least one mile away from an elementary or 1 1/4 mile away from a high school.
If you will NOT use CPS bus transportation, answer no in the survey below.
If you WOULD LIKE TRANSPORTATION, live in the CPS school district, and are 1 mile away or more from St. Mary School, please do the following steps:

Complete the bus transportation survey from the icon below.

Send a copy of your child's birth certificate(s) and current proof of address to lkoslovsky@smshp.com.
St. Mary School must register your child(ren) in the CPS database in JUNE. The survey, birth certificate, and current proof of address forms must be submitted by Friday, June 17, to ensure all eligible students who would like transportation receive bus service beginning on the first day of school.
Upon submitting the request, families will receive a Notice of Eligibility Letter from CPS indicating the status of the request and the mode of service assigned to the student if deemed eligible to receive transportation services. Bus transportation service is not operated by St. Mary School. Please visit https://www.cps-k12.org/families-students/transportation for any transportation questions you may have.

2022-2023 SCHOOL SUPPLY LISTS |

You may purchase your school supplies through the PTO's customized schoolkitz.com site (details further below under the PTO section) or shop and purchase yourself. SCHOOL SUPPLY LISTS are available on the front page Latest News section of smshp.com.

You are also welcome to visit the uniform exchange and take advantage of outgrown, gently used uniforms. The uniform exchange is located in our cafeteria, and you may visit during the school office hours of 9:00 am - NOON / Monday-Thursday in June and August.

Lunch service is through AVI Fresh and is prepared on-premise using fresh ingredients.
Lunch is a pre-pay program. In August, we will share instructions on setting up your child's lunch payment account. Here is the school day lunch page on our website with more details and a sample lunch menu from May 2022.

Before & After School Care

Student care is available before school, beginning at 7:15 am and after school until 5:50 pm. (After-care is not available on early dismissal days.)
Please register today if you are interested in Cougar Care for the 2022-2023 school year. We must understand our staffing needs early in the summer to plan accordingly.

Visit our SMS Spirit wear site for great St. Mary Spirit Wear items. We will have a once-a-month Spirit Wear Day during the school year, where students may come out of uniform dressed in St. Mary Spirit Wear. Uniform-approved shirts and fleece are also available in the Spirit Wear Shop!

We currently await the approval of Apple to re-list our app after recently working with our third-party app developer.
