Newport residents interested in requesting a discounted bare root tree to be planted by the City of Newport may now submit requests via our website.
For the subsidized cost of $85, residents will receive 6′-10′ tall bare root tree, planted in early April by Newport's City Forester. Trees may be planted on the public roadside or on private property within 20′ of a public right-of-way. All requests and site selections will be reviewed by the City Forester for suitability.
For an additional $20, residents can purchase a 15-gallon drip irrigation bag that releases water continually for up to 16 hours. The drip bag conserves water, improves tree health and saves time watering.
