Celebrate Black History Month at Screening of Harriet

In celebration of Black History Month there will be a free screening of the film HARRIET this Sunday at the Shaw Neighborhood Library. HARRIET tells the extraordinary story of Harriet Tubman's escape from slavery and transformation into one of America’s greatest heroes. Her courage, ingenuity, and tenacity freed hundreds of slaves and changed the course of history.

Dupont Circle Main Streets Hosts its Annual Spring Fling

Historic Dupont Circle Main Streets is organizing its 11th annual Spring Fling in the Washington Hilton. The event includes an all-you-can-eat dinner, including New York strip steak, pasta bar, salad, and dessert. There will also be a live auction with gifts from Dupont Circle restaurants, hotels, and shops to make for lively bidding. And live jazz all night!

Woodrow Wilson House Announces New Hours for Touring

The President Woodrow Wilson House, a National Trust Historic Site designed in 1915, gives a special glimpse into the private life of Woodrow Wilson while examining the impact of his presidency on present and future generations. On display are important materials from Wilson’s presidency; objects from the White House; elaborate gifts of state from around the world; family items and personal objects. The house is a living textbook of “modern” American life in the 1920's - from silent films to flapper dresses and zinc sinks.

The Woodrow Wilson House kicked off Presidents Day with complimentary tours and are offering new hours to visitors including evening tours on Thursdays. Click here to learn more.
