Last week we reported the federal government released the 2024/25 budget on April 16. We've had extensive discussions with members and affiliate organizations concerning the proposed increase in capital gains inclusion. Many are concerned about the potential to disincentivize investment and stifle innovation thereby making Canada less competitive. LSBC has signed an open letter urging the federal government to reconsider. This letter, published by the Canadian Council of Innovators has over 1,800 signatures from organizational leaders, including LSBC. See the letter here.
