We will be doing a pumpkin giveaway on Thursday, October 28th from 4:30pm to 6:00pm at the Berryessa Union School District Office. Thank you to our generous community partners BUSD, Safeway and the amazing local artist and muralist Lila Gemellos for helping us put this event together!

Let's Look at Art expects to serve its millionth student by the upcoming 50th anniversary. Will YOU be the docent who takes us there?

ENRICH YOUR LIFE

Art Field Trips, Guest Speakers, and Study Groups. Beyond inspiring students to love art, docents enjoy opportunities for personal enrichment through day trips to artists' studios and museums, informative lectures, and study groups devoted to various artists and themes.
Be a part of SJMA's award-winning art enrichment program, providing free classroom art presentations to over 30,000 students a year at culturally diverse schools throughout Santa Clara County.
If you ask our docents why they joined Let's Look at Art, you'll hear lots of interesting stories. Here's an article with some of the reasons why you might enjoy becoming a docent.

Below is a video about life as a Let's Look at Art Docent.

FREE TREES FOR SAN JOSE RESIDENTS
As we face the effects of global climate change, one very simple thing we can all do to help mitigate the impact is plant trees. Our friends at Our City Forest have begun an ambitious initiative, ¡Comunidades Frescas y Verdes! (Cool & Green Communities), which is focused on San José’s East Side and high-need areas.
4 WAYS YOU CAN HELP

SPREAD THE WORD
Post the flyer - and share with those who can benefit!

VOLUNTEER
If your group would like to help plant trees or co-sponsor an event, contact Erika Alvarez at erika@ourcityforest.org

ADOPT A TREE

DONATE
Please help us continue planting more trees where they are most needed! To sustain our efforts, funds are needed to remove cement and asphalt, to support our old fleet, grow climate-suitable species, and to provide tree care, community education, and volunteer training services. Donations are also needed to help us increase and sustain the annual stipend for our full-time community service members to $25,000. Please visit www.ourcityforest.org/donate
Let's work together as a community and ensure that future generations can benefit from actions we take now. Trees don't need much water to thrive and they can help us combat intense heat and reduce temperatures, reduce pollution, recharge our ground water, fight erosion and make our neighborhoods beautiful and inviting. Join me in helping to support this initiative.
