Red tags are a tool used by local officials to identify when a home has structural issues, code violations or if the building has no permits. The notice is visible from afar and warns against entry into the property unless you have the authority to do so from the officials enforcing the code. To eliminate the red tag from your property, ensure to make the necessary repairs or adjustments within the duration specified by the city. If the deadline passes without any repairs or attempts to repair, you’ll incur a penalty for failing to comply with the codes as required.
