The Constitution, which was approved by voters in 2020, adds four seats to the County Commission: an additional Eastern and Western Commissioner and two At Large Commissioners. The second Western position:
The Eastern At Large position:

GARY SMEDILE, CHAIRMAN, CLAY COUNTY REPUBLICAN CENTRAL COMMITTEE
As Republicans, we value individual liberty, equal rights for all, traditional family values, security in our neighborhoods as well as at our borders and for our Nation, protecting life from conception to natural death, free and fair elections, fiscal responsibility and a strong economy based on free markets and policies that put our country first. In Clay County, we can and do play a role, often pivotal, in fostering those principles. The 2022 election is our latest opportunity.
We have a large slate of candidates for local and state offices and many opportunities for you to learn about them and work for their success. The August 2 Primary and November 8 General elections are quickly approaching and our Republican and like-minded conservative candidates in non-partisan elections can use your help.
Our Lincoln Day Dinner is quickly approaching. On June 25th, beginning at 5:30PM, we will celebrate Republican Values, Volunteers, Office Holders and Candidates. Get your tickets for our spectacular evening at the Heritage Hall Events Center, 117 W. Kansas St. in Liberty. MC’d by radio personality Chris Stigall, our confirmed featured speakers include Congressman Sam Graves and Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft plus other state and local office holders and candidates including U.S. Senate and State Auditor contenders. Plus, we’re planning some very special recognitions. You don’t want to miss it.
Because our meetings are becoming so well attended, we’ve moved the location and made the schedule more convenient. Starting on June 14, our “Build Our Bench” (“BOB”) program to recruit and support current and future candidates and our monthly Republican Central Committee meetings will be on the same night (second Tuesday of each month) and at the same location, Belvoir Winery, 1325 Odd Fellows Road, Liberty. “BOB” begins at 6PM and the Committee meeting begins at 7PM. All fair-minded conservative Republicans are welcome to attend either or both. This month, BOB will build for the future as a follow up on last month’s “Lessons Learned” session that drew from our April 5th local election experiences. The Central Committee meeting will have several key discussion items including a State General Assembly recap presented by two of our Clay County representatives.
After the August 2nd primary, when an unprecedented number of new members to our committee are formally inducted, you’ll see even more action from the group as we work for the success of our two primary objectives: advance Republican principles and elect conservative Republicans to local, state and national offices. Feel free to join us.
